There used to be a map (can't remember the name)    that had a area that when you jumped in this pool these rays zapped you and gave you more health.  When they hit you, you started to scream like it was killing you, but instead you gained health.

Years ago I had that map added to a server and was using it to my advantage since no one knew the secret    Eventually people spec'ed me and found out, the admin called it unfair and removed the map 

Does anyone remember this map 

I probably have it on my comp, but I would have to load up hundreds of maps to find it.  If I have time I might try to find it.

I believe the map you are referring to was called "ancient.bsp" Ancient Stone, Fresh Blood by Mr. CleaN. It had an Egyptian motif and a sarcophagus was in the pool. The secret was the teleport into and out of the room.

One of our admins has, on at least two occasions over the years, described encountering a bug while playing on vanilla where his health shot up to 999.

A laser will make you regain health if it's given a negative value. If it's set to -3, instead of losing 3 health, you gain 3 health.

does not seem abnormal. There is a red armor on dm7, so you could have 200 armor, plus stimpacks and armor shards on the map giving even more. The first rocket shot at him did nothing, the second one did partial damage, probably about 80 or so by the sound, and the third was a direct hit, but didnt seem to give much reflection damage from the wall to his right, so about 100 or so. When you opened up on him with the machine gun it sounded like he was down to near 25 hp or so before lava bath.

yesterday i had quad with ssg i hit this guy 3 times dead  on with the sg + quad and he still lived wtf. and then he fell from the armor on dm2 to the next level and still didn't crator and ran off into the sunset

a demo with sound could give more info.  if i recall, you play at high ping, so it may feel like you are nailing him, but are likely just missing him.  a demo with sound would provide evidence of the damage actually being given to the target.

Not the same event..  The admin had it happen at the end of 2009, and earlier in the summer this year.
So it happens at least once a year for the last 3 years

I miss the invisible "lottery" bug.
