auto ignore

i have had troubles for a long time being able to use the ignore for r1q2. how would i set it in my autoexec to ignore someone? these r the commands i have tried...

set /ignore @ngeldust-CRU
ignore @ngeldust-CRU
set ignore @ngeldust-CRU

none seem to work. even typing it in the console doesn't work

might be the @ in his name,  try it without that?

All else fails you can set con_notifytime to 0 and you wont see any kind of mssgs at all

ignore doesn't work period, not even if i type it in my console, tried it on a few people. that con_notifytime 0 works but i still want to be able to chat to friends. i know i can just bring the console down to view it but still. would rather ignore this ass. don't understand why he isn't atleast half muted. spams his bs after every frag he gets

What do you mean, it doens't work AT ALL or it doesn't work with his name?

I've successfully ignored that guy many times by just typing ignore @ng in console.
You don't have to type out the full names of players you like to ignore, typing a part of the name also works, eg. ignore ngeldust

But doing it from your autoexec you probably need to use quotes around special characters:
ignore "@ngeldust"

I'd leave out the CRU part, in case you'd like to chat with other people from CRU.
Also, you can just try to ignore some parts of the text of his binds, eg.: ignore Painful?, ignore EXPLOSIVES!, ignore SHRAPNEL

so i try it in my console just now while he was on

ignore ngeldust
/ignore ngeldust

i get nothing saying anyone is ignored and then....

@ngeldust-CRU: DANGER! EXPLOSIVES!
@ngeldust-CRU: You Have Just Been Barbequed!

so its just not working full stop

So apparently you used "set ignore ..." at one point and created a cvar.

Make sure there's no "set ignore ..." anywhere.

Type cvarlist in console, make sure 'ignore' isn't listed.

Then, when you type:

/ignore @ngel

r1q2 should respond by saying:

@ngel added to ignore list.

If it doesn't, then there's still a problem.
