Q2 on Mac
I recently installed and played on a Mac G5 with a 30" display. Here is a screenshot.
notice the
wide
aspect ratio and the
tiny
text
Q2 in Java (thus any Java capable platform)
You can also try the Java version:
http://www.bytonic.de/html/jake2_webstart.html
Pretty neat since this means you could play at a coffeeshop without bringing a CD, dongle, or having it up on FTP.
You do need a baseq2 directory, though the shareware may work

it means what it means, is it good to use, worse, does it require more cpu usage... so far all i know is it is portable, if my inquiry does not apply to the intentions of this post, ignore it.

I have noticed that Q2 runs very well in Linux.
If I set my Q2 resolution to 1280 x 1024 in Windows it's all choppy, but in Linux at that res, it's very smooth.

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
