well, as for the tracking thru walls, you have to assume that at some point a decent player who is getting frags will be aiming somewhere useful most of the time.

when you notice that they are staring down a wall with their xhair instead of covering the opening someone just went thru who they could see legitimately, it starts to seem odd.

the occurence I mentioned where he is by the railgun water, ashtar flees backwards thru the sewer like a pansy hoping that someone will follow into his aim, and he runs towards the spawn pad instead of the left side going up to the stairs where you would assume most people would go in insta.. (there's no mg to pick up)  'Take it', at this point, hovered there covering the wall above and to the right edge of the door to the sewer indecisively, as opposed to covering the opening where he could actually hit someone with a rail and where ashtar could peek at any moment to kill him.

When viewed with a wh, you can see ashtar clearly in line with the crosshair that's pointed at nothing useful while 'Take it' makes up his mind about giving chase.

there are some shots he's making up toward the top of the lift from his camp spot by upper RL that appear normal for the most part, but which aren't aimed where they will go thru the keyhole and actually do anything.
at this point he was stationary and had lots of time to correct his aim if his intention was to get them thru the keyhole and up by the shells at the top of the lift.

when viewed with a wallhack, they do however line up nicely to the center of the bodies of the guys running around up there
(yes I realize he could tell they were there otherwise)


all told, since the guy is not banned, and has managed to get Anticheat working, this is probably all additional useless speculation. He can still play, and now he's being watched by a software solution just in case something was going on to cause multiple people to suspect something might be fishy. (alpha's definitely not the only person who's asked about this guy.)

The only other thing I can add is that "Take it" is nowhere near as capable of making prediction shots or flick shots today with AC as compared to yesterday without. That could be unfamiliarity with the client and settings or something else. take your pick.

i am no expert but when someone tracks people through a wall with their xhair without any sound ques it becomes obvious, he was doing it a few rounds before hand and i had also taken 3 other earlier demos on different days when he thought no one was watching, and he has been busted. he's play style is so noobish yet hit flick shots out of nowhere and was beating decent players. but today different story. after having ac forced he was useless. he got his poor ass raped over and over and over again. i specced him for a while and he couldn't hit shit without standing in front of a pad somewhere. his so called prediction shots were also non existant.

the aimbot and wallhacks end up being blatant in one way or another, but the little advantages like "25" "50" for health, "water" for water sound, and maybe spiked models are probably present, and does add up imo.

P.S as for toggling the bot in game there have been cases where it doesn't give off an impulse. look at that other guy that was caught dmitri, he stopped countless times to toggle the bot and didn't give off any impulse command

~ explain how someone can as you put it be retuning their bot when an aimer toggled ingame gives off impulses which should be picked up by the server

Only the most poorly/sloppily coded bot would pass its own impulse commands on to the server.

Frankly I'm amazed one was ever implemented that way (zbot).

But anyway, most bots would not reveal themselves that way.

oooohhhh he registered an account on the forums. seriously he was caught red handed. of course he is gonna be pissed off. and of course he is going to say he was never botting or walling, when demos clearly show otherwise. so he can go on all he wants. he has ac now thats all that matters so he can either play legit or gtfo. if he is going to carry on about having to use ac well that says it all. you would think someone who has been accused of cheating would use ac with no quams if they r legit, but this guy has had his toys taken away so he is gonna cry like a baby

You say you've been watching him for a longer period so I don't know but all I can say is that this demo alone is definitely not convincing enough.

I'm a little fed up with the Quake2 "demo" process. There's been too many times where I've spec'd someone, seen obvious or questionable things - only to view the demo and not see the same thing. I don't know what it is but Quake2's recording process somehow "smooths" out the action and fills in movement where there wasn't any. Only the most obvious Aimbots with wide FOV's will show as clear cheating. Quake2 does NOT record accurate WYSIWYG demos from the spectator's POV.

I've been having bad, cyclical lag for the last year and recently recorded a demo (with Netgraph on) to post it here and get some suggestions as to what's wrong. When I played it back, it looks quite acceptable. Yet in game I was having bad packet loss at timed intervals and much of what I should have seen, didn't render so I lost sight of opponents and stopped a lot. You'd never know it from looking at the demo. Utterly worthless as an accurate recording vehicle. Also the netgraph bar did not show up in the demo, so you can;t see all the red spikes and such.

well even small things are amplified by him using nocheat imo

nocheat is a known client used by cheaters specifically for cheating, and i dont think newer players can use ignorance as an excuse because newer players will most likely use a premade anticheat client or they will use 3.20

whenever i see a person using nocheat i assume they are hacking... even players who have used excuses such as "i just like the client" or something stupid like that have been proven to have been hacking in the end...

ive talked to quadz about it a few times already, and he says he wont just full out deny access with nocheat clients because there is occasionally a random person who uses nocheat who really is just retarded... but even those people wont run it for more than a day because some one will tell them about anticheat and the actually legit players will switch over asap

It's true I haven't been inclined to ban NoCheat from the FFA servers.  Although it's increasingly tempting to do so.

I might consider banning it from the tourney servers though.

gradually pulling all the servers into an umbrella of nocheat banning would be cool starting with the tourney servers because no tdm/1v1 player in usa europe brazil anywhere should ever use nocheat... and you could gradually do the same with the ffa servers over a period of a few months to allow any player running nocheat the ability to connect to other servers still to know what the deal is and allow them time to switch over...

would need a message displayed on the servers on connect for a little while though "tastyspleen servers will be banning nocheat clients from connecting starting xx/xx/xx please switch over to an anticheat client LINK"  :)and then a message telling players why they cant connect maybe?

would be a good solution...

its not hard if you are a good player... but you still wont track EXACTLY lol more like a very educated guess of how fast they are moving behind a wall

also... i just played this guy XD hes ausie, and not that bright... guess i pissed him off by just jumping circles around the map while winning by >50

lol i don't know why this made me remember about when cc-Fierce and another cc guy that i can't remember for the life of me, used to wave at each other through walls during matches and pubs and got caught one time...there was a vid for awhile but since been lost, was pretty funny.
