NADL Predictions

Hello All,
As many of you know the North American Duel League playoff bracket has begun. In this post I will make my predictions, and talk a little about each of the remaining players.

It looks to me like in the starting stages only Hunter and Pyr3x haven't played their match.  Once this match is played there will be eight remaining players in the winner's bracket.  Here are the matches in the final 8:

Naymlis versus sheFF

I don't know much about sheFF other than he comes from Poland, and generally the Polish players are quite strong.  He's shown that even on high ping he can use strategy and tactics to take maps, and even win matches against good NA players.  In other words he's a strong competitor that knows exactly what he's doing.  He's particulary good on q2rdm2, but no matter the map choices versus Naymlis he's has a 95 percent chance of losing this match.  Naymlis doesn't have any glaring weak spots, and is the clear favorite to most.  He's a patient and agressive player that plays much like Purri.  He will constantly wear you down with the slightest advantage, use it to the fullest (more pressure than most without taking much risk), and pick up on your mistakes.  Add to that the ping difference and I'm not sure if there's anything sheFF can do here to take the match.

Slugs versus Pyr3x

This is assuming a Pyr3x win.  Sorry Hunter you'll have to prove me wrong : ).  I believe it is almost a sure thing Pyr3x moves on versus Hunter.  Pyr3x has been playing for many more years than Hunter and is a very experienced dueler.  Pyr3x is excellent with weapons tactics, and doesn't give up.  Since he knows strategy as well this makes him a contendor to take first place.  Slugs is somewhat of a unique player.  - he's extremely fast, and knows every shortcut.  He'll also rely on clutch rails in abnormal positions while taking extreme measures like rocket jumps and using rail at close range.  This is a strength, but versus stronger players I think it will turn out to be a weakness.  Once Pyr3x is able to turn a bad situation good, and gets control of something like the chaingun and a good position, I think Slugs will easily frustrate.  I would like to see a Slugs upset here, but I see Pyr3x grinding out a victory or getting a good start and frustrating Slugs.  I'm giving Pyr3x an 80 percent chance to win the match here.

C-12 versus Careem

I don't know a whole lot about either of these players, but C-12 has been playing with NA players for sometime.  He's a very solid versatile player, but I think he's probably a better team player than dueler.  At least I know he is a formidable team player on many maps, but I think high ping duels against the strongest players might not be his cup of tea.  Careem is a good dueler and is very strong on maps like ptrip and q2rdm7.  I believe  these will be good close games, but with ptrip and q2rdm7 in the maplist, this should put Careem ahead in the match.  I'm giving Careem a 75 percent chance to win this match, because some of the smaller maps might favor Careem.

str1ker versus Isbjorn

This should be a good match to watch.  These players have somewhat different styles in my opinion, and Isbjorn is extremely skilled.  Str1ker does a lot of attacking, has a fast style of play and doesn't really give up, but Isbjorn seems like a machine to me:he will do what needs to be done at any given time to come up with the win.  Bad spawns, bad play or not, he beat Pyr3x on high ping, so he's certainly a formidable opponent even with the high ping.  Without the high ping he'd probably be competing for first place.  It's always nice to see different players play and these are both talented players, so it should be a good game.  I'm going to go with Isbjorn having a 65 percent chance to win here, I think if he doesn't give up somehow he will come up with a win.  Str1ker may give him an opportunity to turn the tide in his favor with his agressive style of play.

For the loser's bracket adrenal1ne may be able to alter the outcome of the tournament.  He has good movement and aim, and is all around pretty solid on the maplist.  I'm also looking forward to matches like haunted, adam, and kyuss.


For the top three spots, I predict Naymlis, Pyr3x and Adrenal1ine.  It's definitely a pleasure to see some of the European players compete with high ping as well.  Maybe we can learn a thing or two from them, and for the next tournament get some "new" faces like ah and kickr0,

well... pyrex would win anyway, and hes at least been around on irc... imo you shoulda just ff hunter awhile ago for not showing up and moved pyrex on... coulda probably been done with another round by now

well nah its not that hes better... he woulda won anyway...

but its cause pyrex was actually in the channel and would respond when you said somethin, and he had been waiting for hunter to show up for a couple weeks

i've been private messaging them both all the time. hunter responds 5x+ more than pyrex does.... pyrex also disappeared for about a week and a half. you're just wrong, deal with it, live with it, go commit suicide.

I've actually been idling in nadl for quite awhile and have seen hunter far more than pyr3x....you obviously have a vendetta against hunter for raping you in nadl and always talking you down in IRC and that is the only reason you are against him....I am with haunted on the suicide thing...gogo.

hunter is a noob, ive already said ill rape him 10x in a row on the same and ONLY map hes beat me on... he doesnt have the balls

and no, whenever i see irc, hunter might be idling, but pyrex will actually talk in the channel, if pming them has different results than cool, but thats not what ive seen
