I think I'm using ReaL's pak--it came with his config too.
The first screenshot uses my gl config, the second uses the config that came with the pak (the stupid thing changed my name lol :P ).

also: if you have MORe then 1 pak that has textures in it,things get fucky for some reason.
Sometimes textures can upscale or even shrink :(
Hmm.  If that's the case, I'll give it a try with all my other .pak files removed.

Indeed, it works fine when I removed conflicting .pak files.

Quite an interesting .pak !  Some unusual sound choices.  I particularly like the horror-style railgun hum :purpleshock:

can't remember where that came from,  I played around in an editor with a ton of sounds and that was a good loop that popped out.

It's about as noticeable as the regular one in game,  and gets a really eerie "stereo effect" when you get close to another railgun user.



!!!!!  I think its Trent Reznor,   the word "erase" done on further down the spiral...

  hmmm,  either that's it or I had the idea to use that and never did...

Have to go listen now  :)

I like this pak a lot, BUT, I don't like the altered sounds OTHER than the 3...2....1... grenade thing.  How would I use all default sounds, other than the 3,2,1 grenade countdown timer with this pak?

Also, I have put "gl_dynamic 0" and "gl_polyblend 0" in my autoexec.cfg (which resides in my baseq2 folder) and I always have to manually exec the autoexec.cfg from the console when I go into game because the gl_dynamic/polyblend don't take for some reason.  What gives?

What I did was, in PakScape, just rename the existing sound folder to sound.disable.  Then, created a new sound folder into which I copy/pasted any sounds I wanted to keep.  (In my case, just some in sound/weapons/*.)



(Note: Some of the sounds also reside in players/* ... so I also renamed players to players.disable ... but, if you want to keep the player skins and just ditch the sounds, you can just delete the .wav's in players/* )

Man that thing needs cleaned up,   there are probably 100 sounds that aren't used.

I have a few things like that,   the bottom of my config.cfg is "bind * exec init.cfg"

init.cfg is what I've named my personal cfg for any game since the late 90's
I just start up q2 and tap the * key and everything is set just right

I figured out why it wasn't working.  I had it in the autoexec.cfg as:

gl_polyblend 0
gl_dynamic 0

I changed it to this:

set gl_polyblend 0
set gl_dynamic 0

and that fixed it.

Oh, I changed my gl_swapinterval to 0 too, and that made things seem a TON smoother/faster.
