If you're talking about strategy around countering yourself vs an opponent with BFG, it's fairly irrelevent since it never apears in Duel matches. In FFA if you chose to use this weapon exclusively on Security, for example, you would tend to win. Can't tell you how many times I've spawned on the arena pads and simply been swept away by a green fog. Or just gotten off the elevator to the same area. The blast doesn't just vaporize the direct shot opponent, but peripheral ones as well. If you have low health, you're a goner. You can get a lot of easy frags fairly quicky since it's a multiple kill weapon. Jail5 has degraded to a BFG map. And Fact3.
On Biggun you can have strategies to contain opponents in the BFG room, but then you are wasting time focused on that instead of killing elsewhere.

BFG = fun.    Only complaint is that most of the time it's to easy to avoid.  It's big, green & slow.  Like a giant lizard sliding up hill.

I have a funny BFG story.

I used to setup a local server and call friends and give them the ip and we would fight it out.  We were playing City1 and I had made over across the canyon to the hole above the RL.  One of my friends was across the way on the ledge below the GL.  He was firing the BFG at me, I would stay there on the edge doing the crotch grab taunt until the last second, then run inside so the BFG couldn't hurt me.  This happened at least two or three times, I was lmao at him.  The last time I came out doing the crotch taunt, I had not noticed he switched weapons.  So there I was crotch taunting and he dropped me with a rail, that had me lmao even more than before.  He still brings that up to me sometimes.  You guys might remember him, he used to play under the name Dr. Bellows.
