Signed - for a console app it has an excellent interface. Also, it's ssh-friendly

irssi + screen just rocks if your a command line/shell person.  Tons of scripts out there for it, and even if you're using through putty on a windows box,  there are some clever ways to get visual notifications (which is a must have for me).

I got fed up with irssi's complexity, so I've been switching between ircII, sic, and just some weak clients (which I would be shit tier for mentioning -- lol xchat.)

Can has new irc network for #tastyspleen. ETG hates so many of us. I would recommend Globalgamers, admins are easy to contact, bans are very short (for cloning), 5 clone limit, good for clans (challenging system is in place), and much more! Also you can set up chanserv to have ban worthy word, quadz! I would even be okay with qnet. Never had any problems with them either.

PS - I miss #tastyspleen and I understand a move would be hard... maybe set up a bridge like we talked about at qcon even?

I personally think X-Chat is by far the best IRC client going. irssi doesn't scale to dozens of channels. mIRC is a piece of shit with a horrible (not to mention ugly) UI and it expects you to pay for it -- it's hardly been updated in 15 years, give me a break.

Hexchat ( http://www.hexchat.org/ ) is another good irc progam. It's free for Windows and Linux and it's based on Xchat.

Been keeping an eye on it for a few months, but I think it's safe to say EnterTheGame IRC is officially gone Their servers went offline on that last day of May.
