weapons switch sound for pak.9

well i came across 3 paks with the file (change.wav) in the weapons folder it appears to me that someone was able to get a weapon switch sound workin! if anyone here has one plz let me know , me and reflex already talked about it , he told me he found on a pak but never got it working ..

im wonderin if it just has to be renamed or if it just wont work at all?

the sound wont work on its own, you need to use it in an alias

you'd need to edit it into all of your weapon switching binds/aliases, and put the change.wav sound into your sound/aliases/ folder for the "play aliases/change" to work.

Properly adding this feature to OpenTDM would be absolutely trivial, and would allow it to work for everyone who plays OpenTDM, rather than requiring client side aliases.  Additionally, you will hear other people's weapon changes if it is done this way.  It's really a one liner:

Main difference is dolans way would only make the sound if the weapon actually switched,  although I don't know if the other person would hear it.

some mod must of had that,  because I know I've heard the sound in action before while spectating someone.

Yes, other people would hear it.  And right, the sound is only triggered when the weapon actually changes -- good point.
