Windows ME will change a screenie to a .jpg with the "save as" option

How with XP and Vista ?

You can either do it in explorer via Tools > Folder Options > View, and uncheck the "Hide Known File Types" box.

Or you can just go into the command line and do a ren *.jpg *.tga...
But I really wouldn't reccomend doing either of those things. Renaming it does NOT convert it from one type to the other. Use Wally or the Gimp or something.

this will allow you to open and change pretty much any type of image to another type.

PS: don't install the google toolbar that it tries to stick you with, and you'll be fine.
