Speed Limit On DM Server

Ecca and I were playing on the DM server yesterday in the AM and some one with the handle Misfit joined in. He/She stuck around for two or three maps and during that time a number of messages stating " Misfit has been frozen due to excessive speeding." or  " exceeding the speed limit" something along that line flashed across the screen.

Can anyone tell me what that is all about?

I actually noticed that message playing some one a week or so ago when I was on the server but never really thought much about it until Ecca and I started to chat about it.

Is this a BOT thing?? a warning??

I "think" it has to do with Q2Admin


it used to kick people all the time for "modified client"
just a quirk where it saw a lag spike as a hack

to the best of my understanding,  they beat that glitch but it produced the  "exceding the speedlimit" glitch.
At least now when Q2admin messes up people don't get disconnected.

agreed, its just a q2admin glitch.

i was there.  he was just lagging.

I get that message once in a while when it is really laggy for me. The other day I was pinging 80 and spiking up to 1300 and got that message a few times. I would also completely cable jack and would freeze, then come out of it with a whole bunch of jibberish

It's what Gator said.  Someday I'd like to get rid of q2admin entirely.  It provides a couple features that are needed by our scripts, however, which is why we keep it around.

But it thinks people are cheating when it turns out they are only lagged.
