yeah, it does currently tell you that your are or aren't using it.
I was just wondering if the other info could be added to it, for info/error debugging purposes, and the nag message removed.

I guess I could just download the anticheat module... since I generally use r1q2 or a non-beta version EGL...

The point of the nag is to inform users who don't know anything about anti-cheat.  These users may not notice a message on their console.  So, if someone does know about it then can disable it -- if they already know about it why continue to nag.

Right.  Generally I would like to encourage everyone to run anticheat who is able to.  However, if a player is fully aware of anticheat, but still doesn't want to run it for some reason, then yes: I'd fully support the ability to disable the nag on an individual basis.

I'll ask r1ch if the cvar check is easy to add.... (I'd imagine so.)

i think you missed that point of that post

i will leave if quake2 turns into quake3 with punkbuster and pure server
its heading that way, as you can see. legit users are starting to get affected

maybe it's a good idea to only use the anticheat for tournaments
or if a certain player is often accused of cheating, he can get the anticheat to show other's he's not, or get people off his back
