Q2 Tournament Maps Nominations (Locked)

I think ultimately Console and/or whoever else is spearheading this should decide which 2-3 maps to use after seeing all the nominations, then every1 will just have to live with it.

The idea of custom maps makes this more fun cause some players have a clear advantage with Edge as they know 90% of the time where you are on the map from the sounds of your pickups and every time you jump.  Heck, you can be right behind me and I won't have a clue 
Custom maps will at least not make it so obvious as when u pickup yello armor or the RL in Edge 

i still will know WHEN you pick up an armor, or specific items that are rare to a map, or due to the placement of items the intervals between clicks of picking up ammo and weapons will give you away, the reason I WANT only a certain number of maps, is because i dont want have to learn the quickest ways to chase you down, and the best ways to run away on so many maps, it was hard enough for me to learn that on the edge

i think rene51 is a horrible 1v1 map, i played it today, its ok for 2v2, but sux balls for 1v1, way too open, everything is kind of packed together, youre always exposed, its not good, on the other hand i played ztn2dm3 today again, that map rules

I agree.. it wouldn't make a good 1v1 map

Hmmm... I only wanted to say something about edge...

It's a great map for those who know how to play it but it puts those of us who don't play it 24/7 (like most xquake folk used to ffa) at an extreme disadvantage.  People who know that map well can hear a footstep and know exactly where you are, not to mention knowing all the jumps.  I think I can hold my own on most maps, but I get totally embarrassed on the Edge.  My first few scores are usually on myself    That being said, seems like lots of people want it, so I'm willing, it'll just bias the tournament a little toward those kick-ass gx-modders.... then again... they'd probably win without Edge anyway, just have to work a little harder for it, hehe.

Hiya the Crazed,

I totally understand your point, if any there was. 

But obviously, a 1v1 Tourney won't attract much people if we don't promise at least one regular map.
If that can consolate you - be assured that the Top 3 Voted Maps will have at least as much appearance in the Tournament as The Edge. So let's hope that the Tourney ends up fair for everyone.
