How do I view demos?

Yes I am a newb to Q2 will gladly appreciate some help. I have put the dm2 file (for a demo) in my Q2 demos folder. The Question is how do I view them.

After you put it in quake2/baseq2/demos , you view it by starting up quake 2 and then typing 'demomap demoname.dm2' , press enter.

Alternatively, google up Demoplay, will automatically play when you double click the .dm2 file, makes everything fifty times easier, however im not sure they have a mac version.

Here's a link to demoplayer.  Using this, you don't have to take the files out of the zips, rename them, or move them to any specific folder.

This is how I play demos on my computer.
First you need to get a demo.  A quake2 demo is a file that ends with .dm2
You need to go into the quake2/baseq2 directory. Here make a new folder, named demos .
Keep all the files with a .dm2 in that folder. To view the demo, launch quake2 and bring down the console, hitting the tild

You really should get demoplayer, it's as simple as that
