Hi-res Textures

As usual, I'm messing around with settings and I read in the nocheat txt file that there are detail textures available with the optional pak.  I had dl'ed a high-res texture pak from q2players.org that I think evil pope made.  I found another one online here.  Does anyone know if this is the "optional pak" referred to in the .txt file?  And if not, where can I find it?

Not sure ghost there was many high res texture paks on the nocheat site  , and I do not remember any being branded as a nocheat pak . Thing is with the textures is they must be tga form I think and you need the original file format in the same directory in the pak for them textures to work using nocheat   .  Other clients use diferent file formats , I think r1chq2 uses png and jpeg , cant be sure though I never really moded textures for other clients then nocheat .

ok female athena skin lets say u want high res athena skin so you make your pak

pak.9/root/players/female

in the female directory you would have a athena.tga and a athena.pcx

I think one of the bigest high res pak on the nc site when it was up was the chrissy pak ya could google for that and see if it comes up somewares .

Found this high-res pak (read the posts there for some more info). It sure looks nice but with 27.5mb it's different from the one you linked to (44mb). I'm not sure but I think if the nocheat .txt referred to an "optional pak" it would be evilpope's(?)

Do any of these packs update the look of the monsters as well?I'm definatly looking for something that does...
