HELP HELP HELP HELP!!

OMG

so iv been having cpu problems since i reformated yesterday
one of the games i play really sucks the juice, and i was finding it was alot laggyier and slower then normal
i found that its using alot of cpu and it even crashed and froze up my whole comp a few times

it was making a really scratchy noice and was super slow before i had my video drivers installed too after i formated
it also seems to take 2 minutes to show the POST screen on startup

now, not knowing what to make of this, i just used a program that checks hardware problems
and guess what? MY CPU IS FUCKING RUNNING AT OVER 80C !!! NO WONDER IM HAVING PROBLEMS
and this is just when its running windows, and not that game =/

so now im freakin out/pulling out my hair here thinking my cpu is gunna explode any min

is there anything i can do fix this? my cpu fan seems to ok and stuff. its runing cool and fast and not making any noise
but ist really the only thing i can think of...

o_O wow that's a hot CPU.

Even under full load a CPU shouldn't get that hot.

Not sure what to tell you.

You might have to replace the thermal compound between the heatsink and CPU.

really? thats all?

i just want to know that it isnt damaged after running at that temp for so long
and even under a big load

i cant even shut down my comp properly cus its freezes each time i do =/
but its ok after i reboot when its at 70c heh

i got some thermal paste from a gpu fan kit i got awhile ago
would that work ok?

Xtife, I'm a some what of a hardware expert when it comes to computers. Talk to me in PM or yahoo and I can fix it for you. Just don't post here, because the other immature forum members will try to discredit me.

i seem to have fixed it, as solo suggested, i put a good amount of thermal paste on it and it seems to be running great at 39-40C on idle
though im still wondering that if i run this for a day if it will climb back up =/ or if i run any cpu intensive games
i have had it off for pretty much the whole night, which gave it chance to cool down. is why im askin

Makes me wonder how my PC even ran when one of the heatsink latches broke off. I found out a few days after I got it as a freebie.

The entire heatsink latches and latch broke on my pc. 
Only one was,  but when my place got burgled they
shook it up pretty bad trying to free it from the desk.
Now that they are all out I have to run my PC on its side
to let gravity keep the heatsink on
