Does Satan rejoice in this mass destruction of innocent human beings? And, if so, could Satanisim as a religious conviction be comparabale to the concept of psychopathy or sociopathy in an individual human being?

At any rate,  I'm sure the death and destruction serve some purpose that is not know to us..  God made it happen for a reason.
Like maybe because of the quake one couple moves away from the country to live in Australia where the wife has an affair with a local official, gets knocked up by him and gives birth to the mother of the person who finally comes up with the cure for AIDS, saving millions.  You don't need to look for anyone or anything to blame.  It happened because it happened.

It's a horrible tragedy, but I am not confused as to why it happened. I do not blame mother nature... it's the most successful process on this planet. Attempts to delay the inevitable(take beach nourishment projects to delay erosion, for example) end up making it much worse in the long run. The Earth corrects through changes like this for it's own best interests, just like the earthquake.
