They're using the MD5 hash to shield it from the heuristic scanner. Every time you release a new version it will take another hash to shield it. Perhaps they have a code signing mechanism you can use to make the process more automatic. If they can verify your signature on the new releases it would make your DLL uniquely identifiable as coming from you.

Avast is now flagging anticheat.dll as a trojan.

Interesting how long after AVG found it that Avast did.

I'm ignoring the warning.

Now AC does not load, is it because that file got deleted?
I do not recall if AC did not load right after that file was deleted.

I get the continuing to load without AC message now.

Suggestions or a fix, please.

I finally gave up and did a web update on my R1Q2 Client and extracted the latest anticheat.dll to my q2 folder. Avg (latest free version) still flags it so I simply told it to ignore it in the advanced configuration settings for AVG.

I  got the last possible upgrade to my agp single core p4 system this xmas (a video card), so when I do win a map once in a while, the anticheat still does not prevent some folks (newcomers) from saying that I am cheating, so I don't think it's worth it. You may need to rewrite it so that it blows up the computer if we cheat!

My AVG is completely up to date. Anticheat.dll is still detected as a virus. Gotta manually go into resident shield and add an exception to the quake 2 folder.

Kinda weird over here... probably 2 days ago, AVG started shutting off anticheat whenever I'd try to connect. Never had a problem before. Had to add to the Quake2 folder as an exception. I mean really R1CH, if you want to see all my pr0nz, just ask! I watched Barney the purple dinosaur a few times, I learned how to share my shit, it's cool.
