Apparently many of the audience members were annoyed by the way the Cormier vs Lewis fight went this weekend and they started walking out in large numbers right after the submission occurred and before Bruce Buffer could announce the official results.

To those people: WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU EXPECT? DC ain't fuckin' stupid. He's watched Lewis fight before. He's seen him clobber the living shit out of people with those fists. It's run of the mill: if you're fighting a guy with nuclear punching power like Lewis, you take them down and it removes that threat. Not to mention, DC is an olympic medal wrestler. Of COURSE, he's gonna clinch and wrestle.

So if anyone is thinking the proposed Daniel Cormier vs Brock Lesnar fight might be some kinda epic brawl with fists... hell no. Not a chance! It's gonna be the same shit. Brock Lesnar is gonna try like hell to take DC down first and get top position... but he'll probably fail and get slowly but surely out-wrestled by DC.

What do you think about McGregor vs cerrone? I watched it live... a lot of build up and a promised lightweight title shot with khabib if he won is what Dana said before the fight. Everyone is saying cowboy took a dive. He didn't, but they were confident in Conor winning obviously and want to make good money fights.

That being said, would you rather have conor v khabib 2, or watch him take a stab at 170, in particular jorge masvidal? I think he has a big issue that gets worse at 170. His cardio will be worse, which already wasn't too good, with the extra mass he's acquired in his upper body. Obviously that isn't an issue if he finishes people in the 1st round every time though haha. The challenge that presents against opponents like Usman or Woodley that have a big size advantage on him is interesting. I won't lie, part of me wants to entertain the possibility of him defying all odds and damage those guys early.

Really the only other option is Nate diaz 3 to make the money they want off him. They're not going to give justin g. a crack at him. Or he fights khabib who is literally 2 fights away(McGregor, ferguson) to becoming perhaps the most undisputed GOAT the sport has ever seen.

Potential spoilers ahead...

I don't think Conor has a chance against Woodley or Usman. They're so much bigger, and likely stronger than he is, where I think they'd take him down pretty much at will. Neither of them are slouches standing either, but I suppose Conor should have the edge there.

I'd much rather see Conor fight Masvidal, if he has to fight a welterweight (Masvidal was a lightweight for much of his career though). I think that fight would be much more likely to remain standing, and I think that would make it much more entertaining to watch.

There's no way the Cerrone/Conor fight was in any way staged. The only thing 'staged' about it might have been that whoever decided to put the fight together figured Conor had a really good chance of winning, and winning convincingly. As far as what unfolded in the cage though, I think Conor caught Cerrone by surprise with the impact from those shoulder strikes. After the fight, Cerrone himself commented about the "elbow" strikes Conor threw. I'm not sure if Cerrone wasn't aware of what Conor hit him with, or just misspoke, but they appeared to have quite an impact behind them, which isn't something I recall seeing before (and they apparently caught Cerrone by surprise). I wish the fight had gone on a little longer, but oh well.

Picking the winner of that fight was too easy. Cerrone is talented and can beat a lot of people, but I don't consider him to have really ever been champion material in the UFC or back in the good ole days of WEC. McGregor just has FEROCIOUS punching power delivered with incredible accuracy. It was always gonna be too much for Cerrone to handle. What's kept ex-WEC guys like Cerrone and Pettis winning (but still losing a few) has been the fact that they've stayed busy and acclimated to fighting. Guys like Benson Henderson and Urijah Faber lost so much once they got to the UFC because they fought far less frequently.

I don't give a damn who McGregor fights next honestly. Just as long as he fights ANYONE, and soon. If he's gonna be a fighter... again... he needs to keep his shit together, stay out of handcuffs and courtrooms, and show up to fight people more often than once every 2 years.

Another Khabib fight? Fuck that. Khabib would win. All those Dagastani muslim fighters fight so fucking boring. Although they aren't as bad as most of the female fighters, who most of them are clearly throwing punches and kicks only intending to score points rather than HURT their opponent and beat them. Like that fight between that lanky Columbian chick and JJ Aldridge or whatever her name was. That Columbian girl was throwing the most lazy little pussified leg kicks and body kicks I've ever seen. I could've taken those kicks. MOST PEOPLE (who aren't elderly or minors) could've easily taken those kicks. If you're a pro-level fighter and you're gonna kick someone, then it's something you've practiced 1 million times. Throw it like you mean it.

And that's kinda why I actually PREFER to download the shit and watch it afterwards. For starters, it's free, which is all it's worth most of the time in my opinion. I don't wanna pay for a PPV or even a $10/month subscription to Fight Pass when the PPV's tend to be more boring than the Fight Nights they do on FoxSports or ESPN. Number two, I can fastforward through the women's fights, which most of them tend to be snooze-inducing and end with judges decisions. I'd rather watch 15 hours of Jim Carrey doing Jerry Lewis impressions than watch one more instance of 15 minutes of another boring-as-fuck Holly Holm fight.

Attempted to use that link to stream the Royal Rumble to my bedroom tv via the Xbox, but only 2 of the streams would ever work, and only for about 15 or 20 mins at a time before they'd go dead for 5-10mins, and the other streams said I'd need Adobe Flash to play the video, and my Xbox's browser (Edge) won't download add-ons like a regular browser.

All these supposed injuries in fight camps. Sure, sometimes they occur. But these people are professionals, they know how to train and prevent injury. You never used to see the big name boxers dropping out of fights left and right like this. They trained properly, and there was so much money on the line that dropping out probably meant that 5 Sicilian guys would visit you with pistols and pipe wrenches to offer some "friendly encouragement."

Kamaru is slick, but I think McGregor would have a decent chance of catching him early.

Whereas Masvidal probably has a better chin, definitely has better grappling skills, and he's gonna attack right back which would even it out early on.

I think Usman would make the more interesting fight though, as he'd be less likely to shoot for takedowns, and it would be more interesting to see what gameplan he'd employ in a standing striking match with McGregor.

McGregor's gotten better on the ground, but I don't think he's gonna win a fight there unless he gets someone in full mount and postures up on them. He seems to know enough about grappling to defend submissions there and not get manhandled completely, but his offense all but stops in that position.

Anybody catch the last 2 weekends UFC events? Particularly the Jones vs Reyes fight 2 weeks ago and the Diego Sanchez fight this past weekend. If not, spoilers ahead, do not read further...

I've said it before, right? That when they fight outside of Vegas, the chances of them getting 3 objective unbiased judges are decreased - and when in Brazil, the chances of getting 3 judges who will be unbiased against non-Brazilians is as low as about 25%. Well I think they were somewhere in Texas for the UFC ppv with Jones and Reyes. In Vegas, Reyes wins that fight 3 rounds to 2 rounds, clearly. But not outside Vegas. Nope, they get fucking assholes judges who the only way to convince them that the opponent beats Jon Jones is if they bitch-slap him all over the octagon for 5 straight rounds or finishes him. That's the same way some of the Brazil judges judge.

Diego Sanchez was losing. I think everybody would agree on that, even the judges ...who are biased. But I was kinda bummed that Diego took the free DQ win for that knee to a grounded opponent. Kind of a bitch way to win a fight when it didn't ko or stun him at all. Usually Sanchez is a crazy never-say-die motherfucker who fights to the bitter end. Realistically, it was the only way he was gonna get a win in that fight, his chances of KOing or submiting the guy was virtually zero. But still... that's not the Diego Sanchez we all love. Disappointing. Never thought he'd be one to take the easy way out like that.

Yup I saw it. That was a silly fight in general but he clearly lost every minute of it. Mr. backflips needs to improve his fight IQ because that was such a preventable silly mistake to cap off a silly fight... while I was watching it im like don't do it Diego, when I saw his mannerisms and "I can't see"... then he did. Disappointing.

Yoel Romero is a joke these days. I'll add that he's a great fighter, and even better for his age, but that interview blaming Israel for the pace of that fight was absurd. Nothing else to say about that one.

The other obviously notable performance was O'Malley. Boy, did he look sharp. As someone who watched half the card, his fight and the women's straw weight are definitely the two you need to watch(other is below).

Ahh, shit. I just reread that. I was only careful in the beginning. Sorry. At least I was with the only fight worth watching. That IS the full fight in the link. Apparently if they zoom it to 125%ish, eliminating the borders that include sponsors/affiliations/ads, then I guess it stays on YouTube? Looks like it.
