Yeah, Gensys sucked. In the first two movies it took them the entire movie to kill just one terminator. In the first ten minutes of this one they killed two of them. Yes, they were prepared and stuff, but still, it makes the terminators look like a joke and not a threat.

And it doesn't end there. In first two movies they manage to escape the terminator by sheer luck or something, but here they easily beat the shit out of the main terminator every time they saw him, I was sorry for the poor guy.

It had nothing what made the originals great, the pacing was lame, the characters were never vulnerable (not to mention Klye Reese was a super soldier on roids this time), it was just a dumb action movie.

T2 was the best of all. Heck even if you watch it today it still is good.

I kinda thought the first one was the best one. I guess I mostly think that because in the first one they didn't have to finagle the story to make the audience say, "Oh, okay, well that makes sense.", because there was no prior established story. That's my main complaint about the latest one. It really didn't offer anything ADDITIONAL to the story, which is SUPPOSED to be the whole point of any sequel. Instead, they just took the first and second movies, clipped out the parts they liked and recycled them into the new one, and then half-assedly filled in all blank spots in between.

I suspect the new Star Wars movies will have the exact same treatment. Dollars to donuts they're gonna leave the audience saying, "Good god, you people could've gone ANYWHERE with this new chapter, but instead you've decided to transparently whore out the first six films for the purpose of having a "vehicle" by which to market a new line of toys, video games, and various other forms of merchandise. Fuck you very much." Because if something like JarJar Binks pissed off the serious Star Wars fans as bad as it did when the last 3 movies came out, just imagine what they'll say about this one. At least last time it George Lucas who had the idea to create such a dumb character. They could at least be appeased by the fact that the idea came from Lucas himself and it was authentic. Lucas didn't write one line for the new one. Oh, they're gonna burn down the Star Wars convention center next year, you watch.

I saw a horror movie this morning, my son being born. Terrifying. 10/10 will not watch again but considering the sequel.

My kids were born by C-section, it was definitely gruesome to see. It is crazy that we have all of this technology, but a C-section is just slice her open, move stuff out of the way and pull the baby out.

And the mother is awake the whole time

My wife is one tough woman, even after being sliced open, she was down on the floor playing with the baby 3 days later.

My wife has a crazy knack for having kids. She pushed my 8 lb 12 oz son out induced early in 20 mins of pushing. She's ridiculously amazing for a first birth and a baby that large. She was walking around 6 hours later, the only issue was getting the pain Ned's to wear off.

Getting back on topic now...

I've been binge watching a few shows to get caught up in time for the new seasons coming up in late January.

One that I finally got around to checking out was Black Sails. Seems like it's based on a few real-life figures from the golden age of Caribbean pirates, but very very little of it cares to root itself in actual historical fact. In fact, the main character Captain Flint is in reality a completely fictional character from the novel Treasure Island. And in this show... he's secretly a homosexual.

Am I the only one who's sick and fucking tired of seeing these shows where they insist on having one token gay couple to seemingly make a statement that people should be more accepting of homosexuality? It insults my intelligence to see these actors paraded out as homo's like they're mere dancing monkeys holding political advertisement signs. It has NO BEARING on the story they're trying to tell, it's purpose in being there at all is so transparent, and THAT is what pisses me off the most about it, NOT the fact that they're gay and I might be bigoted. It's like the film industry thinks of us all as children who require their instruction and moral lessons. Their job is to make TV shows that I wanna watch, not school me in the finer points of social justice and political correctness.

Overall, not a terribly bad show. I'll probably continue following it.

I also finally got around to watching all 4 seasons of the Starz original series Spartacus. I had seen a handful of episodes from the 1st season Blood and Sand, and the 2nd season Gods of the Arena. After watching all 4 seasons of it... YOU ARE HEREBY WARNED.

The first season, Blood and Sand? Not bad. Pretty good. I kinda liked it. Lots of nudity though. Too much probably. The creators of the show would probably disagree, but I would term the amount and degree of nudity found in the show to be entirely gratuitous and pointless. It's almost like they had the goal of including at least 5 minutes of gratuitous nudity in each episode in order to better fill out the hour long time slot the show occupied.

It's ancient Rome, they were a decadent hedonistic society, I GET IT, ESPECIALLY AFTER YOU SHOW IT TO ME CONSTANTLY IN EVERY GOD DAMNED EPISODE, can we get on with the storytelling now please?

The 2nd season, Gods of the Arena? Not bad either. Not as good as the 1st, but still okay. Again, too much nudity. At this point in the show, the guy who used to play Spartacus was diagnosed with cancer, so they went back and made the 2nd season become the prequel to season 1 and told what happened before Spartacus arrived on the scene as a gladiator.

The 3rd season, Vengeance? Pretty bad. At this point, the actor who previously played Spartacus had died of cancer and they recast the role to an even WORSE actor. Also, at this point, the dialogue in the show grows to become entirely overused and cliche. They attempt to use a form of English that is somewhere between Shakespearian and King James era English to give the dialogue some kind of ancient Roman feel to it. But at times, it sounds more caveman-like than anything.

The 4th season, War of the Damned? Really bad. Now that you've become thoroughly annoyed by the overused and cliche dialogue that all of the characters have recycled interchangeably throughout the previous season, now you are afforded the opportunity to allow it to drive you up the fucking wall with madness. By the start of the 4th season, it was like fingernails on a fucking chalkboard. I was no longer interested in the story very much, but I was determined to see it through to the end and know how they decided to end it. And by the end of it all, the only thing I found enjoyment in was the fact that I wouldn't have to watch it anymore.

So do yourself a favor. If you haven't had the opportunity to watch this show and think you might want to... DON'T. It sucks. Watch the first season and then stop.
