Trouble Shooting / r1q2 crash...
« on: April 27, 2011, 08:08:42 PM »
Hi,

Ive been trying to get back and play a couple of games in my win7 machine, and it crashes all the time. Ive tried changing the compatibility mode, changing AVG permission, MS Forefront, reinstalling, replacing ref_soft.dll, etc. and nothing works.

Heres the error. can someone plz help?

thanks

R1Q2 encountered an unhandled exception and has terminated. If you are able to
reproduce this crash, please submit the crash report to r1ch.net when prompted or
post this file and the crash dump .dmp file (if available) on the R1Q2 forums at
http://www.r1ch.net/forum/index.php?board=8.0

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING THE LATEST VERSIONS OF R1Q2/R1GL/ETC!

This crash appears to have occured in the 'c:\quake2\ref_soft.dll' module.
It is very likely that the software renderer (ref_soft) is at fault. Software
rendering in Q2 has always been unreliable. If possible, please use OpenGL to avoid
crashes. Consider using the modified ref_soft.dll available on the r1ch.net forums to
fix some small bugs if you are not using it already.

If we can vote instagib on the T4 server it would be great.

In comparaison from t4 rail delay to irtdm or railztdm, heres a small graph of how it feels for me ( | bar = delay of rail after clicking the trigger) ;)

IRTDM + Railztdm
0         0.25          0.5          0.75          1.00 (second)
...........................|....................................

Tourney4
0         0.25          0.5          0.75          1.00 (second)
......|.........................................................

That makes a huge difference for me! Strange how i fell i have a 120 ping on these servers... Anyways thanks for the reply!

Hi,

Ive been back a bit for about a week, and noticed some choppyness and lag on the irtdm and railztdm server. I dunno if its because i never noticed before, but on my part it seems very laggy and not too good for a rail server.

I then go on tourney4 and notice how the people's pings are much better, and how this t4 server is really smooth. Most of the people I see on t4 have lower pings than on tourney, so i guess it would be the same for a major part of the community?

That being said, is there a reason there is such a difference between irtdm+railztdm and tourney4? And could we change it so that it is optimize for a rail server? (if its only me that has this issue, ignore this hehe)

thanks

I always find these discussions sad...

I think there are 2 kinds of people, the ones that have a pre-defined idea, nothing can prove them wrong, even if they have the truth in their face that prove their argument is erronous, and the ones that will accept a fact that beat their argument to progress to a collective agreement of best plausible answers.

I just dont understand this crap of wasting time debating on subjects that are, without a doubt, old and counter-progressive for human kind. Ive wasted time and energy arguing on such things with creationists/atheists, and it was the same old conclusion: THEY WONT ACCEPT THE FACTS, THEREFORE, FOR MY PERSONAL PROGRESSION, IT IS A STICK IN MY WHEELS. I use to argue a lot like you with %&&*#& ideologists to enforce mt own theory, but now im starting to approach these condescendingly.....

The creationist will say "hey you got the answer right here in the bible, no need to ask all the silly questions!!!! God loves you!" and the atheists will say "Without a doubt, there is no way a god exists or any divine energy of power, and this is the only truth". Both these are simply WRONG. As quadz was mentionning, it is jumping to the conclusion, then doing the research with a pre-defined conclusion.... WTF

Some people choose to set camp along the road of knowledge while other choose to go on in search of answers until they die. The best way to learn is to listen to new ideas, not old fashioned theories that makes our lazy asses confortable and feel secure in a narrow mind ... thats my opinion

Politics / Re: This is why government healthcare is bad

Here is a video that I think puts some of this into perspective.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9GMKK_fWKg&feature=player_embedded

LOL @ video...

cant believe people take this crap as a video with good arguments... This video takes one side, the bad, and doesnt look at the causes and solutions. This reporters story is total show journalism, what we call "journalisme à senstations" here in Canada...

1. "When government takes charges, innovation stops..." lol@you mustach man, innovation wont stop in the US or any civilized country... dumb ass
2. "Dental health care, people pull their own tooths and so on..." first of all, dental care is not covered here in Canada by the government... Ive seen people suffer horribly, wanting to remove their bad tooth with home made tools... Why? BECAUSE THEY DIDNT HAVE MONEY/INSURANCE TO COVER FOR THIS. Meaning you have more problems if your not covered by government/insurance. This journalist is a moron.
3. "People line up for care, some of them die, thats what happens..." once again, this argument is ridiculous compared to people that dont have insurance. What do you think happens to someone that DOESNT HAVE HEALTH CARE? oh he survives miracalusly by the touch of your GREAT god, saviour of all americans.... BS again.... Id rather wait for something, than having NOTHING.
4. "You wanna see your neurologist, no problem, you just have to wait six months..." This problem in Canada is because many doctors are looking to make more money, and in the states, they make more money. We lose doctors because of that, because of differences in moral values of each of our governments. This issue would be resolved easily if salaries were similar in the US. Flaws in our system are because of insurance companies/doctors in the US for profits, not health CARE...
5. "Youll wait an average 23 hours in an emergency room" This is in an hospital, in clinics (there are around 30-50 clinics in a city of 150 000 people here in Quebec), its about 1-3 hours of waiting. Once again here, the hospital problem is caused by the fact that we have a lack of doctors here because of our south profit making health systems...
6. "1.7 millions canadians cant get a family doctor, others must wait" ditto, and maybe others must wait, but they still can go see the doctor anytime they want, im one of these canadians that doesnt have a family doctor, but ive always received care any time i needed.....
7. "Nathasha Richardson died because there was no high tech equipment 100 miles away" .... What do you expect moron, she was in a ski trip 100 of miles away from a metropolitan area, IN THE WILD!!!... What a stupid argument that makes no sense at all.....
8. "Its that pursuit of profit that gives us innovations that saves lives..." Like there are no other solutions to that? Do you really think innovation would stop??? Universities, research labs, high tech companies around the world would still continue to do research, as we do here in canada. Do you think we create with sticks and rocks? We do have innovation here too that has impact all around the world, the same would still apply to the US...
9. "Research is profit driven, cures for this and that are based on reawards..." Well look at that, we will stop doing research all around the world for a better life if the US has health care. lol....cmon.... you can do better than that mr mustach
10. "4% of drugs are government responsabilities" Do you think the drugs we pay are covered by the health care in Canada? No they are not, meaning the drug companies will still make profit as they would without a health care. Cant believe this video...

Anyways, this reporter is total crap, he even compares apples with oranges at the end by comparing pet health care to human health care. His arguments are total shit, once again, it proves by the high rating of this video how people are ignorant and living in a bubble that is totally isolated from the rest of the world. Do some proper research and you will find things that will surprise you and may change your opinion for something thats based of good morals, not money..... wow lol
