I could have called myself ChildKiller, ChildRapist, KiddyScrew, KiddyFuck, FuckKiddy, ChildFuck, FuckChild,  Childerfkrklr Or any variation of those terrible names. But I didnt I chose to call myself somthing that I thought would be more in good taste than any of those others. A name perhaps a bit more tollerable. I guess I was wrong. But I would like to point out that I have never hurt or raped a child in my life! I could never imagine doing that and I think the people who do rape and kill chldren deserve to be killed. Same thing with child molestation. I define molestation as an act against a childs will or an act that is harmful to a child. And it doesnt have to be sexual in nature. Alot of poor kids are beaten and neglected =*(

Honestly, I don't personally give a damn what player name you choose. You thought such a name would be in good taste? Your sense of aesthetics are fucking lousy.

Bot Drop / Re: Bot?
« on: January 03, 2008, 07:00:11 AM »
Usually I'd have to see a demo chasing the person in question to say for sure that they're using a bot. This one was blatantly obvious even WITHOUT that. When a person seems to have great accuracy with a railgun, but can't predict shots with a rocketlauncher worth a damn, that's a small hint that something might be fishy. If you notice, when you're in the megahealth room with him at the beginning of the second match, all of his shots with the rocket launcher are directly aimed at where you WERE, not at where he might've thought you were going to be. But the thing that REALLY gave it away was during the first match when he fragged you with the machine gun or chaingun, whatever it was he was using. Not ONE single bullet missed you even though you were jumping around all over the place to get away from his fire. If a person is skilled enough to keep their crosshairs over you that long without one single bullet skipping past you, shouldn't they also be able to predict your movement when using a rocketlauncher against you?

kills me how some of you are attempting to correlate smoking weed and child molesting.

Weed is a peaceful substance. Ever hear of someone getting high and beating his wife? no, but you do about basically every other mind-altering substance out there. 800,000 ppl are arrested every year in America due to marijuana, 90% of those being possession. The reason for this is the misconception made by many, that smoking weed can be correlated w/ deviance, especially violent crimes.

Oh and weed isn't becoming socially acceptable, it IS. Go fly to europe, when I was 17 in london there were ppl smoking joints on public benches and in bars everywhere. Every1 would always pass them around to, even 2 random tourists like myself. Only in America can 80,000 (currently) people be taking up jail cell space for child molesters due to marijuana.

Some of you? I assume you mean "some of ME". If you read my post, I never said that possession of marijuana is an offense as egregious as molesting a child. I never said that marijuana has a tendency to make people violent. I've smoked plenty of it myself in the past, I know full-well how it affects someone. You're only pulling the wool over your own eyes if you're attempting to make all drug users look like fine upstanding model citizens. I've known plenty of pot dealers who carried handguns illegally. I've known plenty of pot smokers who have extensive criminal records, and most of the offenses were not drug related. The point I was making is that both things (possession of drugs OR child molestation) are absolutely positively against the law. Don't feed me the line about "weed isn't becoming socially acceptable, it IS." Sure, in other places. But here in America, it's illegal. If it were so socially acceptable, why would they give pre-employment drug screens? Why would insurance companies require drug screens in order to cover the cost of medical bills created by on-the-job accidents? Why do you have to hide your hash pipe from other drivers when you're riding down the road smoking a bowl? If it were indeed completely socially acceptable in America, seems to me you wouldn't have to worry about your neighbors catching a whiff off the hydro growing in your basement.

If you think I'm personally of the opinion that it should remain an illegal substance, you're wrong. Like I said, I've probably smoked more weed the last two years I did it, than you ever will in your entire life. From my own experience, it impairs a person less than alcohol and is just as medically harmful for your body as cigarette smoking, maybe a little moreso. I used to smoke it all day long every day for several years. I coughed up more gunk and had lung pains far worse during that period than when I smoked nonfilter cigarettes like a chimney. After a while, even the strongest hydro I could find wouldn't get me high for longer than 15 minutes, which is why I smoked constantly. Seeing as how there are no signs of physical addiction or immediate health risk, I would say it should probably be legalized. After all, cigarettes ARE addictive and pose no "immediate" health risk and they are legal products. Alcohol has the potential to be addictive and poses no "immediate" health risk, and it's legal. Doesn't mean I'm going to partake of them though. As I said, and it is 100% fact, they manipulate and dull the senses and influence people to do things they might not otherwise do. They make you stupid and unproductive. If someone can tell me with a straight face that a person who is fucked up on weed is any smarter at that moment than they might otherwise be, I'd be happy to roll my eyes at them. There were several points I made in that particular post that I don't think I spelled out clear enough, obviously. My point is, I don't want to hear about people getting fucked up and using drugs, I hate that shit. Since these are liberally moderated forums, I have the right to say that here. Just as anyone else has the right to talk about getting fucked up and smoking white widow with a dusting of extra keefe on top out of an original tommy chong 3 footer glass bong loaded with ice cubes. And if none of us like the fact that we're all allowed to speak our minds, we have the option of leaving, no one is holding a gun to anyone's head (other than in the game) and forcing them to interact and play here. Complaining about someone else being able to speak however they wish seems like... hrmmm, irony defined, maybe?

My resolution: the same one for the past 8 years... to finally quit smoking cigarettes.

easy ... just don't replace it with smokeless like I did. You think quiting smoke is tough ....

Yeah, I've tried that method before too. I figured since I really don't enjoy spitting that nasty shit that it would help ween me off of nicotine... not so. Unless maybe you're lipping those Skoal Bandit pouches 1 at a time, you're actually getting MORE nicotine than any full flavored menthol cigarette... even with the filter ripped off. At one time I was smoking 2 to 3 packs of Lucky Strike nonfilters a day, which are pretty stout and tarry. I got a big lip full of some fine cut wintergreen skoal, and was surprised that I got a slight nicotine buzz. Hell, a can of decent brand smokeless tobacco is more than a pack of cigarettes anyway. Another negative: snuff would tend to trickle down the back of my throat and cause me to get annoying hiccups that were hard to get rid of.

Snuff like Skoal and Copenhagen is pretty gross in my opinion... but not NEARLY as disgusting as Red Man chewing tobacco.  :21210-7: I tried some of that crap once. I'd have to say that I'd rather pick up a freshly shat cat turd and suck the juices out of it than to EVER EVER EVER[/i] put that nastiness in my mouth again. I was ready and willing to start licking sandpaper until my tongue was bleeding to remove my tastebuds so that I wouldn't have to taste that foul wretchedness anymore. And if you happen to accidentally swallow some of it... you'll be doubled over puking your shoelaces up until you pass out from exhaustion.

Again there is a line. How can you compare smokin weed to child rapists? Because they are both against the law? So is jaywalking and murder. All q2ers put up with some sort of abusive chat and I'm sure most dish it out but to come in and talk about sex with minors? It is only my humble opinion to say that talking about abusing kids is just to much. Why the great debate? No racism and no sick talk about sex with children. Seems simple enough for me.

I can compare the two because possession of marijuana can get you arrested just like molesting a child can. They are both illegal. I accept the fact that possession and useage of marijuana is becoming more widespread and socially acceptable in some peoples minds, but the fact remains that it is illegal. Just because many people disagree with a law, doesn't give them the right to break that law. There are degrees of the nature of the offense: misdemeanor and felony. At this point, in the "Supreme Court of Tastyspleen", :teef: I would consider the allegations against this person to be mere misdemeanor charges. Obviously the person will be admonished to cease and desist with comments about having sex with children (even though the only evidence I can recall is them saying "Your children will be my sex slaves") and hopefully they will comply with the request. Obviously they will be closely watched for further incident, and if such a case should appear, they will then be considered a "Tastyspleen habitual violator", which brings the charges up to a felony offense. The Honorable Judge Console will then pass sentancing on him accordingly, which could include temporary mute, permanent mute, mandatory player name change, temporary IP ban, or permanent IP deportation/exile from the jolly continent of Tastyspleenia.

Court is in recess. Jury, please do not discuss the details of this case with other jury members. :P

I didn't pop in using a clan tag pretending to be in a clan. Honestly I was getting owned by BTF and changed my regular name to BTF Faggot in front of BTF members because I was just having a horrible game and took it out on them. Which doesn't make it right and it lasted all of about 5 minutes. I also am not for censorship because I often use the name DICKMITZER which was from a joke about a guy being so gay he got dickmitized when he saw a dick. Me and some of my friends thought it was funny and started using the name. No one has ever complained about that name. I know we all talk shit and piss each other off at times which seems par for the coarse but to come in and talk about sex with children I thought maybe was so horrific that console might tell them to change thier names. I've seen console defend lesser causes. But you do make sense and I'll just ignore those sick fkrs....

I certainly do not condone the molestation of children, the thought of it thoroughly wretches me. Anyone who violates the innocence of a child should have his balls smashed.

Your own choice to use the name BTF-Faggot might offend someone who is a homosexual. Some have made mention to the fact that acts of pedophilia are in violation of the law. Should this person be banned from using the servers for making such comments? I certainly don't want to read comments about having children as sex slaves or any other comments to that effect. But if comments such as that are outlawed because of how they advocate the breaking of laws, should people be prohibited from discussing things such as, "Oh man, I just smoked a big fat joint laced with PCP and coke, I'm soooo fuckin' high right now!!!" Possession of marijuana is also against the law. Personally, I don't do drugs. In my opinion, they dull the senses, have the capability of controlling a persons will, their usage typically becomes more of a compulsion than an indulgence (i.e. addiction), and above all else... it's illegal and has the capability of landing you in prison, a place NO ONE wants to be. But I certainly don't think that people should have to censor what they say about it.

Do we really have the right NOT to be offended? We all populate these servers by choice. We can choose to NOT go there if we don't like the environment. It's up to the Tastyspleen admins as to what to do about this situation. If anyone would like to take a productive stand on the issue at this point, the thing to do would be to ask the person whenever you see them on the servers in a respectful and polite way to please change their name. If they begin with the comments about "children as sex slaves", exercise your own right to free speech on these servers by persecuting and ridiculing them for such comments. If enough people do that, they will probably leave on their own.

And yes, that would mean you have the right to call them a "faggot" if you like.

I've seen two of them around. The Pedophile and The Pedophilette. I guess they are attempting to be a 2 person comedy team, although I personally don't find it funny. They make comments about having children as sex slaves. It doesn't bother me at all though. After choosing names like that, it's obvious they welcome the negative feedback,... lo and behold, THIS THREAD. If you simply ignore their comments, you deny them any gratification they might get from attempting to get under your skin. I don't like the names, but I don't think anything should be done about it. If you started censoring people's player names because they are offensive to some people, you'd have EVERYONE pissing and moaning about the censorship. How lame would that be? In my opinion... extremely.

I'm actually more concerned about the fact that you admit to impersonating other clan members. That offends me far more, and if Console has taken the initiative to prevent you from doing that, I applaud him. You certainly wouldn't want me hopping on your instant messenger talking to everyone on your buddy list. I might not give the proper respect that you would give to everyone.

Focalor, A nice game of backgammon doesn't sound to bad. Since i'm curious about your religious standing, maybe a bit of a discussion on theology? I don't know what you're into philosophically, but have you read anything from any saints?...The summa theologica by St. Thomas Aquanis tops the cake. From the looks of it, it seems you've gotten into Nietzsche lol

As far as philosophy in general, my favorites are Ayn Rand, Anton LaVey, Voltaire, etc. Not sure how entertaining a discussion on theology would be, it is what it is. I don't recall reading Summa Theologica, doesn't mean I know for sure that I haven't, I just don't recall. I've read so many things, it's hard to keep track of it. I've read plenty of Nietzsche, good stuff.

"While everyone else is reading Nietzsche, I'll be watching Don Amicci."  8)

My resolution: the same one for the past 8 years... to finally quit smoking cigarettes. Gonna shoot for the cold turkey method. I can't spend money on stupid things like the patch or the gum, I'd rather just do it without those. I'm already down to about 10-15 cigarettes a day, where I was a 1.5 to 2 packs a day kinda dude. I'm a full flavor Camel menthol smoker, so I'll probably end up working my way to Marlboro ultra lights and then try to quit completely from there. I'll have someone keep a pack of ultra lights on hand for those times when I start getting really irritable and hard to deal with when I haven't had a puff in a good while.

95% of the time, I'm on Tastyspleen:RAILZ. Every now and then I'll take a break from it and hang out at VANILLA or DM. I like to screw off at LOX occasionally too, although I haven't figured out how to use all the game features. The guided missles and guided nukes are fun. Usually people start spamming cataclysm device grenades, but I guess it's fair since I tend to hide and hunt down other players with guided missles.  ;D

Other than Q2 here at Tastyspleen, I sometimes hop on LIVvE for some backgammon. I'd play chess online but I can't find a good place to do that, haven't really looked either. If anyone ever wants to hook up for some good free backgammon, gimme a holler, we'll hook up on LIVvE, it's pretty much exactly like the old Mplayer with voice and cam chat. Or if anyone around would like to hook up with me and knows of a good place to play chess for free, gimme a holler, I'd love to.

Offline, I'm currently playing Quake4, just got it as an Xmas gift. Other than that, I play Grand Theft Auto 3 sometimes, just going on rampages around the city seeing how long I can keep the cops and the national guard from killing me or arresting me, thats why I love GTA, it's got plenty of replay value in that aspect. I've also been slowly working on beating Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2, an older game, one that I've had sitting around unplayed for a long time. I have a bunch other FPS games that I break out from time to time.
*Redneck Rampage w/ Suckin Grits on Rt. 66 expansion pack
*Redneck Rampage Rides Again
*Duke Nukem
*Shadow Warrior
*Quake 3 Arena
*Soldier of Fortune 2: Double Helix
*Return to Castle Wolfenstein
*Max Payne
*and a BUNCH more, I can't remember them all off the top of my head

Yes, Xfire agrees, Q2 rocks, Q4 and DOOM3 sunk like a rock. :(
Waaaayyyyy more people can be found on Q2 over Q4, Q3 does still have alot of players though.
F.E.A.R. is your one and only true SP AND MP choice for 19.99
To answer the original question, Go for Pain Killer. It has a moderatly large online community, has a great original single player (although no tangible story line and a complete liniar game play may turn away some people), and is built on interesting and original weaponry. For example the wooden steak launcher does moderate damage up close, but at a distance the steak catches on fire and can burn your enemies.

I've never heard of F.E.A.R., but I seem to remember seeing an ad for Pain Killer somewhere and thinking "that looks pretty cool". I'll have to see if I can track down a demo version of both of those and give them a spin. Thanks a bunch for the suggestions guys!  :notworthy:

I appreciate the responses so far. Apparently I was very wrong in my assumptions. Just because it's a Quake or Doom title... doesn't neccessarily mean it's going to yield kick-ass deathmatch play like Quake2. When I had the demo version, I tried out multiplayer and instantly noticed the lag. I tried setting the video to lower detail and resolution, but there was still a bit of lag. One feature I did like was the user-tweakable mouse smoothing effect. I was using a really sensitive wireless mouse at that time, and it helped to make aiming a lot more smooth and natural, not everyone has the luxury of owning a good USB mouse. Obviously I haven't played it a whole hell of a lot yet... but I have to agree with the general consensus: Quake2 does make for better multiplayer than Quake4. You can use jumps to quickly enter an area and ambush someone, whereas in Quake4, jumping will probably make you move even slower. Having to reload your weapon certainly introduces an interesting twist to gameplay, and probably an annoying one for the guy who always forgets to grab a full magazine before attacking someone, hehe.

I guess I was right about one thing though, no one HAS heard of Hidden and Dangerous 2, no one has breathed a word about it so far. The screenshots on the box make the game look rather unattractive. The characters appear to lack the intricate lifelike details displayed in other games (fewer polygons used in the models I suppose). I seem to remember reading a review about it (or maybe Hidden and Dangerous 1) being nothing more than a poorly done knock-off of some popular Tom Clancy game.
