While I appreciate the ingenuity and talent that goes into devising a mod like this, I must side with those who say "why?" the point of a multiplayer game is to get better at it through practice, hardwork, practice, dedication and some practice, all of us starting on a level playing field is the only way to go, if we start pandering to people who don't want to take the time to get good at something where does it end? why don't we award 2 frags for people who have the handicap set to beginner? or give them infinite ammo or spawn with the BFG and quad damage?,
How much bending over do you want to do to get these people (who still won't be satisfied) to play?.
I enjoy playing chess, when I started playing I met a good player who beat me 16 games straight till I beat him by accident 1 time, did this make me cry that I wanted him to play without a queen?, No, I kept at it till I could win at least half the time, the moral of this story?,
'If you don't care enough to get good, go find something else to do"

Still thanks for thinking of and making the mod, Its just not one I think is for me, I'd rather get beaten then win a hollow victory.

If germany hadn't stripped its resources by attacking russia & england it would have been able to win, as it was by the time the allied forces reached germany all germany had left were basically teenagers, japan had no home field advantage against two nuclear bombs dropped on civilians, how would we react if we did not have nuclear weapons and two were dropped on washington and nevada?, if you went on to a server with the power to press a button and kill everyone on the level but you, over and over again, is that really playing against home field advantage?.

That was home field advantage, peopl who had worked the land for years and knew every hole and hill to use for advantage, the same as if you play a new map you never played before against someone who had played that map for years, that is a huge advantage.

Why bother playing if you lack the skill or the desire to acquire it?, games are like jousting arenas were modern day knights pit themselves against each other in contests of skill?, cheating is the same as a knight in medieval times using rocket launchers and laser weapons against knights still using lances and swords? how does this constitute fun?, if thats the kind of gameplay you want go outside and step on some bugs? they have about as much chance of beating you.

COOL, first quake newscast I hear about in a while, very smooth nice FX
The WHOLE TFQ TEAM Thanks you guys for the mention, it is a grand team effort, not just myself, others are taking a breather because of RealLife things they need to get done, till then I just keep the Energon Fires Burning and keep on making new and exciting stuff.

I put a video up on my mod site showing the 'Dinobot Flame Breath' i did, i need to limit its range but i think it looks quite good!

Cheating kinda defeats the purpose of a game of skill?

Ususally I play An FPS all the way through without cheats, using every non cheating trick in the book including the basic (SAVE OFTEN), rocket jumps and so on,
then after crawling around the corridors with 10 health and beating the game,  I reward myself with the codes and go back though the game as Superbadass terminator,

But in Coop you have other to help you? thats a huge boost right there? you can use Coop only tricks like jumping on other players to reach inaccessible areas,
you only invent these skills when you don't have the alternative of 'turning on godmode' there are plenty of invulnerability artifacts ALREADY IN THE GAME! use those.

bottom line: "If you want to use cheat codes to become invulnerable all the time, Whats the point?, play offline and don't burden others with your lack of ability or confidence."

I have backups of everything related to TFQ, after all that hard work and learning from scratch how to do everything I won't let it die!!

let me know how the new GL renderer performs for you, it allows JPG,TGA texture replacements for all textures with resizing based on the original .wal file
it has fixed shadows you can enable with the 'gl_shadows 1' cvar setting (ID's original shadow code sucked, it had overlapping anomalies and rested at weird angles)
transparent HUD setting 'gl_contrans' 0 thru 1 are valid for this
scalable HUD with 'gl_scale' so you can have 1024 - 768 and the HUD is the size of 320 - 240
it also has new effect code colors but these you need code in the dll to see (they are for TFQv4)

after TFQv4 i'll be looking into redoing the renderer to scale better without ANY sampling down, again aimed at FULL compatibility with original quake2.exe

NO YOU DON'T, the next upload to ModDB will include the new GL renderer which give high res graphics EVEN in Regular Quake2!

And for you good patrons here this is a stable version, just replace your ref_gl.dll in your quake2 folder and enjoy high res on ALL quake2 games TFQ included!

Alot of work in the past year has been on improving the quake2 game engine to allow all the new features while loosing no compatibility.

Found all of the RMG files, and am currently looking to fix whats wrong with the foundry packs that don't work,
once this is done i'll zip it all up and post it somewhere,

Random map generation works pretty well, although alot of corridors look identical (thats just the nature of the beast), this can be gotten around with imaginative foundry design,

I'm also gonna make some Transformers themed Foundry sets to be released with the next version of Transformers Quake 2 (thats version 5 not the next version 4 of the mod)

I have the RMG and have got it to work, it can only produce 10x10x1 grid maps based on the foundry prefabs you have,

farkus02, m_forest & s4 don't work the only foundries that work ar s1 s2 s3 and mike, there are other foundry packs but the links are long dead,

I would like to raise a point in this subject...

When I was a very young boy, the word 'niger' was used extensively along with 'nigra' 'nigrum' 'nigrae' as all these words mean the 'color black'! this is the Original use of this word not as a derogatory insult to any race or collective group of people, but a simple color? if ten years from now you were FORBIDDEN to use the word Black or any derivative thereof how would you feel?.

This being said, 'niger' is not an original English word it is a borrowed word  like so many other English words, the meaning of the word is not clearly defaming, neither 'niger' or 'nigga' (which is 'niger' mispronounced and attempted to be made a new word as 'Pwnage' is the same as 'Ownage' from which its is derived) is a intrinsically BAD Word, it is the 'Intended Meaning' that is All Important .

Words DO NOT Harm unless they are intended to do so, addressing someone as nigga is not racist unless the context is racist (regardless of your own color), I can insult, demean, verbally injure ANYONE and never use any word which is considered 'Verboten' (German for Forbidden [Nazi joke]) if my intent is to do so. (I do not personally enjoy being so lame)

The American First Amendment was drafted to ensure the FULL FREEDOM OF SPEECH of every citizen (and by equality of rights everyone) "I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it!", Monitoring, administrating or babysitting are all very important responsibilities and occasionally silencing or kicking is the only way to keep conversations civil, I think a word based autoban is not only too lenient on those who cause trouble (as they can alter words or use similar words to escape a technicality) but too Draconian on those who mean no harm and feel their rights are being however slightly impuned.

Consider this, from now on you cannot use the word 'AND' as it offends androgynous people and therefore is a racial, sexist, and derogatory word (Autoban if you use it) <-- Fair? I think not? This a*d many other words could be added to such a list:

cheeks (specifically of the ass)
package (unless referring to a wrapped article) [unless the danglies are also wrapped?]
bongos (unless being played by Ricky Ricardo)

A*d so on a*d so on.....etcetera......

I think each case should be judged on context and use and not by a single word alone, freedom of speech not freedom of abuse.

thats more than 2 cents but hey, there you go.
