Exterminader is effectively saying here that he will only play you on the ts railz server where he will spawn with a gun and probably avoid you like the plague after you get 3 frags.

He will run and hide to get one of his own, then when he gets it, he will spam a smiley and probably leave with the very thin excuse that he has something else to go do.

Not really sure why you want to play on fox, but it's not gonna happen. He maintains it as his own private newbie reserve where he can stand around spamming traps at people who arent very skilled while thinking he's cool and never having anyone call him on it. This is what he did on xatrix, except people called him on it, and occasionally a good player would pop in to make him leave after he couldn't do anything to them for 5 minutes.

PS: inb4 claims of tdm player circle jerking: I don't like you, but at least I'll play you.

morningstar, maybe you should ask how long your sentence is for, just or unjust.

The answer to that may be found here:

That does sound like the right timeframe. I don't think I'd even heard the term used in that sense until a couple years ago.

Their comments about when and how people were raised with more emphasis on self reliance and dealing with the issues of life without mommy to hide behind hits home for me. As someone who was a kid during the 80s and early 90s, I can confirm that there did seem to be a shift in the parenting culture with the generation just after mine.

I spent hours and hours unsupervised as a kid, and my older brother had even more time to himself where he was just trusted not to go screw off, or to watch me.
We didn't turn out as the nicest people, but we're both capable adults now who can deal with other people's BS.

It's kinda funny to me to look at it this way now, because for years I had commented on the slightly younger generation being a bunch of pansies and I just thought that was part of growing up... One of those "Oh those kids these days.." sort of things that you find yourself saying as you get older.

Maybe I was actually noticing a real trend and not just wearing rose tinted glasses and leaning on the golden age fallacy.

apparently now if you don't say anything at all about something you are condoning it.. interesting way of seeing things.

Does anyone know where all this "safe place" nonsense even came from? Did the world magically stop being an inherently unsafe place and nobody told me?

Every time I see that 'feeling safe' BS thrown around by whiny protestors, I am left wondering when they plan to stop hiding behind a new mommy surrogate every day and face real life for the first time.

I get the feeling it's the new flavor of the anti-bullying hooplah from a few years back turned on it's head, or some radical new extension of political correctness that states that now you aren't even allowed to not like the same things or to not have the same thoughts as others.

Am I a big scary mind-rapist now anytime I think someone's opinion is utter nonsense, or that they vote for retards and I actually mention it to them?

I need a safe place from all this safe place bullshit.

http://dervish.tastyspleen.net/rust/tutorials/hint/hint.htm

when you make the .map into a .bsp file for q2, you will run it thru a program called qbsp.exe that will cut the map you made up into the final triangles used to render it in-game. hint brushes are only used at this stage and don't appear in the final product.

they are used to define planes that the map creator would like used preferably during this cutting-up process, in order to minimize the program cutting stuff up poorly or making too many triangles where fewer would do the same thing using less resources. sometimes it is used to insure that a certain spot is cut a specific way to avoid one huge map area being seen from another huge or complicated area.

in this old q2 engine, the total number of rendered triangles in the final map are very limited and if they consistently go over a certain number they cause the game to chug noticeably and drop framerate. if you can only "see" the area you are in, and not the other one around the corner, the renderer will draw a lot less triangles every time it draws a frame and this will make it draw that frame faster.

This is what comes of it when we let politicians think that their opinions and knee jerk reactions have the same value as scientific facts and ideas determined by professional doctors and scientists.

Aight, since some people asked, I put the iR500 config up for people to fool around with and download the map I set up last time. I'll look into running the event again in about a month.

It'll be on a weekend, probably in the evening eastern time. If you have a day in Oct that you think will work best, chime in.

In the meantime you can try out the map and settings, and I've enabled voting for bots to test it against as the map is pretty big. "vote addbot X" in console, after you've joined the game and entered play, should add X number of bots.

the UN is becoming less and less relevant as they continue to allow countries with horrible human rights records vote to slap other countries on the wrist over supposed wrongdoings. It's pretty telling when you see their nearly daily condemnation of Israel for "human rights violations" and nobody says a fucking thing about North Korea.

Their "peacekeeping" missions are notoriously useless and I can't think of an example in the last 20 years where they actually assisted in a meaningful way to prevent war and sustain peace. That always falls on the shoulders of NATO, in other words, the US and the couple of countries out of that whole shebang who actually contribute more than a handful of troops to NATO.

The entire security council setup is laughable as well, since any time a major issue occurs its usually instigated by one of the countries with veto power, or one of their close allies who they will protect at all costs.

what a surprise: 2dum got razor'd by magic.

There's so much lame newbie in that phrase that I almost didn't want to utter it.

Yet again, I called it. My mind boggling psychic powers win the day.
