I played Freeze Tag for years on UK servers as Viking_EO (I'm from Norway ;-) ).
There were always alot of chat during games and I needed a nick to "hide" behind while playing more focused and not talking to much.
At the same time I bought a new mouse ...
Actually only one of the admins ever suspected that the two nicks were the same player (because he could see parts of my IP) as I actually played very different and better when using opTiCal.

When talk of Tournament started I was the first to sign up. However I did not take into consideration that it would take a few weeks for the tournament to be organized. And in the event that I would make it to 2nd round ... well then I'm in France on vacation without my Quake2 poolside  :(

he's getting better.. and he wants to get better.. this is his way of getting under everyones skin. It's all in good fun.

Had a go vs. banes yesterday on ztn2dm2.
The bastard, due to all his trashtalk and my lack of 1v1 experience, made me nervous as hell throughout the whole match. Man I was close to shaking at times. Shows the psychologie involved when it goes down.

Was fun as hell tho and banes won on sudden death.

Goes to show that a cocky attitude works :)

( You just wait till I'm more relaxed in a 1v1 ;) )

Haven't run this by the other refs yet, but heres a suggestion:

All refs will grant 1 frag for every 24th beer consumed at start of match.

Should tell location.

My wep drop binds:

bind KP_pgup say_team "Rail for %n;drop railgun;drop slugs"
bind kp_rightarrow say_team "Rocket Launcher for %n;drop Rocket Launcher;drop rockets"
bind kp_slash say_team "Shells for %n;drop shells"

Alerts closest player about the drop.

If your client supports it you can also use .loc files. They are more spesific than the default Q2 locs. Like "Lower SSG",  "Upper Rocket Launcher" etc.

I have to disagree there banes. I love rene51 and find it to be a good 1v1 / 2v2 map. I guess it comes down to playstyle and favorite weapon. There are for instance not that many narrow spots where floor/wall-damage from Rocket Launcher would matter. Map is open and circular so its easy to get good speed around the whole map.

Would just like to add that this post was written BEFORE the server got the spawn protection it has today.

At that time, if a map had 5 spawn points, there would be a sob with a rail at 4 of them.

Things are much better now  :)

Those models can be modified ... that was my point.
