check these out. Ive kinda commented them out a bit so it may give you some ideas as to the many things you can bind and how aliases work.

feel free to copy anything out that you want to use.

I have all of these copied into every mod directory and the baseq2, so I'm setup pretty much the same, no matter what.
if a certain mod needs certain binds tho, you can just edit the one in that mod's directory.

So is this what U play on, with these binds.?? - Some of it is confusing coz I've never used it, but it's very interesting to me.!!
Look's like I will have to move over too the " W A S D " keys for more options on the binds.!! - Change a few binds, but it all looks good.!! - Thanks.!!

stick the binds in an autoexec.cfg text file that resides in the folder of the mod you're playing (eg baseq2 or tourney), and everything in that file will be loaded up automatically. Google around, there's plenty of helpful information

Aarrhh ... OK ... I've seen that " autoexec.cfg " file in there ...
I thought if U bind in that mod, it'll add it to that autoexec.cfg file.?? (obviously it doesn't hey.?) - Cool ... Now I know ... Cheer's ...

In each mod's folder find a file called config.cfg
Open that file using wordpad or notepad.
Insert the commands like bind key "use blaster;use machinegun;use chaingun;use railgun" I think you can also create a file called autoexec.cfg and input your binds/aliases into that file and drop a copy of it into all your mod's folders.

Thankyou very much ... So does that mean I can bind more than 1 weapon to that key.?? - If so ... COOL.!!
I'm guessing that if I don't have that weapon, it'll goto the next weapon for that key bind.? - Otherwise, each time the key is pressed, it'll pick the next weapon.??

ALSO; I have heard about these " Alias's ".?? - Have no idea what they are, or how to use them.? - Are they similar to " Binds ".?? - Does this improve your gaming.??

Hi there ...

I know " How To Bind " actions & weapon binds in the console  ... But for some reason, I lose them when I exit.??

" How do I create a " Config File " for each of the Mods, ie; Wod, Lithium, Chaos etc ... So I don't have to keep typing those binds in the console, on each visit.?? "

Will I have to create 1 in every Mod Folder, or can I just put the 1 in the main Quake II Folder.?? - Been playing for over 10 years now, it's getting annoying, re-binding all the time.!!

Love some help here guys ...
Might even have to move over to " W A S D " keys for playing instead of my Up Down Left Right Arrows 4 more options.?? - I'll work on it ... In the meantime, looking forward to replies, Cheer's.!!

What is Bit Defender? Maybe it is a virus. Many viruses come with built in virus scanners nowadays.

- BitDefender is (1) of the BEST.!! - And I said 1 of the best.!!

BitDefender is the one that DETECTED it.!! - I Quarantined it like " UUD-40

Trouble Shooting / Got DemoPlay To Work, But Also Got A Virus Warning.??

Hi there again ...
Just letting U know, I did get both way suggested to work, which is great ...
I guess if U don't actually have the map, U can't see the DEMO of the game, which is understandable ... So that's fine ...

Anyway ...

Just that I happen to do a VirusScan last nite and ... Well ... I got a result I wasn't expecting.?? - In the DemoPlay folder.??
So far I have just left it alone ...
Did another Scan & all is fine ... DemoPlay itself still works perfectly, so I'll still continue to use it, just weird it came up in my scan.??
Just thought I'd pass this along as my experience to share ... Nothing comes up @ BitDefender about this.??
- Is this a Flase-Positive.?? - Dunno, & it doesn't matter now, I'm happy all is clear.!! - Cheer's.!!

WHOA.!! - Thanks Again ... 

I just created a folder called:- demos in my Quake2\baseq2  ( The demos folder wasn't in there )

I've now copied the demowatch.cfg to the demos folder, & that'll allow me to speed-up, or slow-down the demo.!!
I'm just about to give it a go, but I will try it both way.!! - ( Geeze, now that's starting to sound sus.? ) - Thanks again guy's, Cheer's.!!

Hi there ...

I'm trying to work out how to see a recorded-demo of a match ... It has a file extension " .dm2 " ...
So far I have no idea how to see this demo, even when windows asks, I point to quake2.exe
Obviously this is wrong ... So how do U run this demo with a " .dm2 " extension.?? - Anyone.??

P.s. Also, How do U Record a match in play to checkout later.??
- What are the cmds if anyone knows this too.?? Appreciative to know.!! - Cheer's.!!

I'm also getting the same problem too " Groo " ...

I have all the AntiCheats installed correctly, loading the RIGHT .exe for those, yet I get booted within 10sec - 5min ...

AND, this only happens with " TastySpleen Servers "  ... I just wanted to play a simple DM, but alas ...

Maybe we're " Banned " & we don't even know it.?? - AntiCheats are good, just wish they worked properly.!!

That's just it ... I don't get ANY messages WHY I'm being booted.?? - All I get is: Connecting to 63.12.145.125:27911  <<------ That's It.!!

Next time you get booted, could you save a condump from your console and post that here?

I.e. type this in your console after you get booted:

condump booted.txt

Then look for a file in your Quake2/baseq2 folder called booted.txt, and paste that here.

OK ... I'm back and I'm Still Getting BOOTED, so WHY is this still happening.?? - Surely a server can't get FrEaKy over a ~230ms ping.??
Anyway ... Here's the ConDump as requested ... Mind you, when I do get booted, my whole console clears, then the message below ...
Am I being " Banned " by any chance.?? - Because I don't know " IF " I am.?? - I'll gladly PM my IP-Address to a MOD to fix this ...
Other than this ... It's ONLY " TastySpleen Servers " that's kicking me for some reason.?? - Dam it's fustrating.!!

It doesn't say anything about being booted ... I just get knocked OFF.?? - AND my connection is STABLE, so it's not that.!!

Have I been <<< BANNED >>> & I don't even know about it.?? - How would I know anyway.??

It's all to weird for me ... Getting booted for doing NOTHING.!! Work that out.??
Hardly think ~220ms on a 1.5Mb/s connection is classed as LAG.?? - I Dunno.?? - Have No Idea What's Up With TastySpleen-Servers.??

Now for some reason AGAIN ... I now get booted AGAIN.?? - I have the " AntiCheat " installed.!! - So what's the prob. here.??
Just looking @ your post here Reflex ... I'll ALSO install these other " Things " to my collection of " AntiCheats " already on my machine.!!

I have a bought copy of Quake2 ... I have No-Bots ... I have no HACKS ...
It's as clean as U can get.!! - So that brings it down to the " Buggy " side of detection.?? - Obviously it's doing " False-Positives ", thus not working.??
If a program, plugin, whatever, is mistakenly detecting a " LAG " as a " BOT " ... Detection-Software has to get better, otherwise, Why boot me.??

OK ... I'm gonna install these so-called " Other AntiCheats " ... Just so I can play a dam game.!!
- But I still wanna know, Why Am I Getting Booted.??
