R1Q2 / Q2pro are more commonly used multiplayer source ports but it seems like they don't support all the shader features etc. that Q2xp and Bersker have, any chance you could create a simplified version for R1Q2 / Q2pro ?

about q2pro i found next: "When Q2PRO attempts to load an alias model from disk, it determines actual model format by file contents, rather than by filename extension. Therefore, if you wish to override MD2 model with MD3 replacement, simply rename the MD3 model to ‘tris.md2’ and place it in appropriate packfile to make sure it gets loaded first." - seems, md3 models can work, but need to test it.
http://www.moddb.com/mods/quake2-remodel/images/models-at-kmquake2 - here is screenshot of KmQuake - models without normal and specular maps, but looks better too. there are no jelly vertexes, better texture, some of models a true high-poly (super shotgun) and eve without nm models looks good.
