About month ago i coded a fork of q2pro (client/server/gamedll/custom mods) with an additional HUD (switchable to default/new), but looks like no one was interested, so, i just removed it from moddb

Quake / q2.rlogin.dk keeps killing the q2 scene

Yesterday he started q2.lithium.ml with 90/256 players who redirected players to his main server. I tweeted r1ch and 5 minutes later the redirecting one was banned (silently, r1ch didnt reply)

Today he started again 5 minutes ago with again a fake server at 2nd position, copying my name (play.q2lithium.net instead of .com) which redirects the players to his .dk server :



I'm exhausted about this guy, wtf does he want :/ (more players than me.... why? he needs meds man)

his server (q2.rlogin.ml) redirects to q2.rlogin.dk and is malicious as hell, stuff I found when connecting:

edit: he just removed the fake redirecting one at the top or r1ch removed it after my tweet to him about it, the malicious server still remains with the forcing stufftext commands, I'm wondering what his new move will be....

I didnt start the fight, as people can see, he has now started .ML servers (rlogin.ml instead of rlogin.nl) and extreme fake clients (90/256 etc) .

He uses his old IP from danmark for his new fake servers which is active till november 2015 which is known on the wall of shame: http://stats.antiche.at/?ip=81.161.188.225&t=c
he dropped the fake clients (for now) on his normal lithium server so 'it looks like' all those .ml domains are mine to make me look bad, but they are his.... he thinks the community is not smart enough to see these things.
He removed the fake names on his default .dk server to look "honest" but the one at the top (90/256 players) with .ML extension (trying to look like it's mine) redirects to his .dk server!

The result of all of that is that q2 will be even more dead because this cant be taken serious anymore and even now R1ch don't take action.

The only thing I wanted months ago was to start a server because I loved the game but the concurrent didnt like that and wanted domination in the lithium scene and tried to talk bad about me, otherwise I would NEVER have started ANY fake client to begin with, it spiraled out of control now but believe me, he was the rotten apple from the start, I just reacted as a response, but because his players were declining and my website was higher ranked on google after a while, he probably became mad because I suspect that he doesnt have a life besides q2 and was probably crying to see his players declining , so now he starts to act weird.

what did I do now ?
I changed all q2.rlogin.nl servers to play.q2lithium.com servers and gave them honest bot tags which will stay. no fakeness anymore. let him lead the fakery, he earns a medal for it.

To make it clear: q2.lithium.ML is not mine , I had .nl , not .ML, .ML belongs to mio from rlogin.dk who tried to mimic my servers by using a free .ML extension but it redirects to his default .dk server, that's why he deleted the fake clients on his main server because the fake one that looks like mine redirects to his
Smart attempt, but we're not crazy right ?

I knew that already but sometimes I see punchlines containing one sentence from people that make wrong conclusions and it's exhausting to explain a whole story with history information to people who dont give a rats ass about lithium anyway, but ok :p

There are 2 vampire nicks in the q2 scene, one is ~DL~Da_Vampire (me) , who never plays DM only lithium (since 1999), and another guy called ^Vamp^ who doesnt play lithium, just DM (also for years).
The guy ^Vamp^ seems to be banned because he claims that tastyspleen thinks he's me.
I feel sorry for him, just want to let you know, especially because I never play on tastyspleen (I have ping 200 or so) and I have talked to him before because he has the same nick which kinda funny.

I already said it on the vanilla server but I dont know if that would help.
So if tastyspleen wanna ban me for whatever reason, ok, but please unban the innocent one, he always plays on your servers for years and I don't play on it at all and I'm not a bad guy at all, so I feel guilty now to the other player.

I''m sorry, as long as r1ch who has the power doesnt remove the clown with his 16 fake players, I quit.
no motivation to do bad to fight bad, I''m done.
r1ch was the only one who had the power to restore order and remove that rotten apple, but he seems to be a rotten apple himself and I think I was the only one complaining about it at him, so I had no support, let it die then, I dont give a fuck anymore.

That's great, but changing the name of your server and then doing this isn't much of an improvement:

that causes to have just one wallfly visible on q2servers.com website (instead of 16 fake different names like that guy) if you click the server because it just shows one when the names are the same.
It''s easy to say as a dm player "just remove everything so it's 0/20'' but lithium is dead, nobody cares here about that mod anyway at all, I''m no competition to tastyspleen or any other dm server, lithium players can be counted on just one hand so if the only one left with a little activity (since I came) is cheating for over a year and the players only come there as THE server (they think) because it''s the only server left were it might be possible to find another player, NOBODY but really NOBODY would check yours because of his unfair way of competition... the players really don''t care if your server is better or not, they just find that one place were the last lithium players are left on the planet.
So if he doesnt drop his list with fake names, there is no chance to exist unless you want a dead server. At least the only lithium players left see there is another lithium server on the planet , otherwise they wouldnt check the bottom on the list for a long time anymore and when they visit my server more often, they will know it exists so I can drop this answer on his tactics.
If you loved lithium and you was me, you would understand the frustration as a server admin.
Its like wanting to start a snackbar but a concurrent next to you gives free french frites all the time because he can afford it because he has 300 customers a day and you''re new and both would be the only ones where people still buy some and the majority eats chinese food but complain about the 2 snackbars fighting at the corner on the street.
Normally, I would get sick of this kind of complaints and just stop and leave , but because the other guy is a sneaky bastard that even crashed my server if I had some players before (to cause that they go his one immediately as alternative and dont go back) because OSP has a voting bug (> 32 characters)  and he was aware of that and used it in his advantage (that''s why he has voting disabled, also running OSP) so I was forced to use Ultra to have a system like q3a were a bot leaves for a player (many disadvantages like no highscores and no timeleft visible on HUD) but it''s extremely hard to keep alive if one guy wants to destroy competition with all means necessary.
So just saying that what would help is running an empty server and shut the hell up is easy for someone that doesnt visit my server anyway. It has become like a job to improve things (website, irc , monitoring) so I''m not just going to give up because some dm players dont like it that dont play lithium at all, I''m just trying to make a lithium place where I can play the game I love for 15 years which is dying, in a way that I love it (bots that can give a punch back instead of his blasting bots and leaving the server with 200+ frags thinking '' am I that good ?"
Since he banned me as well, I have no choice than not giving up, because I dont like dancing in deathmatch, I need to move around in the air, that''s what I love. for regular DM, I play q3a.
If I have players frequently OR if he drops his 16 different fake names, I would drop the count, again, there are just around 10 lithium players and 5 max play at same time at a specific moment and for now they choose the other as meeting point because they are used to that before I came back to the scene so if I want to make a little chance, I can''t give up now:)

sometimes I wanna ask the players left what they want to see or changed to improve the experience, but the truth is, they don''t talk and ignore ya. some dont like custom maps and leave while you try to give something extra to be exclusive, some complain about air acceleration and think the movement is slow while when using the hook, dm is slow, when you disable it to have dm physics, some lithium players complain that they cant change direction easily in the air and that they fall down too fast, it''s NEVER satisfying for them
It''s easier to start a restaurant then to please everyone if you just want to play a game of lithium these days without people complaining about whatever.
If they leave for another server, I sometimes wanna join that server to ask for the honest reason why they abandoned mine, but that would be foolish but you understand the frustration, you wanna so something good to the scene to keep it alive and nobody appreciates it AT ALL

It's just deathmatch with the items/weapons randomly mixed each map load and warp voting system added as well (based on ultra mod)

I don't like what he does with his server either, but none of us are in control of q2servers.com and we can't do anything about it.

R1CH isn't active in the Q2 scene anymore and I don't think he's interested in babysitting the masterlist, so our choices are either: 1) Deal with it, or 2) Start a playerlist war and make it worse.

It's up to you to decide which choice you think is in the best interest of the Q2 community.

(he started a campaign online to say everywhere that I'm bad on every website, even godlikeproductions.com , of course I'm mad, not because of his lies, it's hilarious,  but because the masses dont know who's the liar and I have to post replies after scanning the net to proof who's the liar, it's really going crazy now)

No one cares about your personal issues towards each other, only that both of you are spamming q2servers.com masterlist with fake players.

When you try to compete with his server using the same tactics you only make the problem worse. Having several servers with a high number of fake players makes outsiders believe that Q2 servers are only filled with bots and not actual players.

None of your arguments are valid when you continue to participate in the same behavior. If it were up to me both your servers would be delisted and banned from q2servers.com masterlist.

so what do you suggest ???

Lithium is already dead, the players can be counted on 2 hands and the ones online at the same time can be counted on just one, that's about it.... so if someone cheats, no other server has a chance.

I just wanted to do it better because I saw it has some weak bots that are using the blaster 90% of the time so it was boring (to me!!! not for someone else maybe, to me !) and started a f...... server because I f... love the game. guess what ? some guy didnt like that and it happened to be that other server, he wants total domination in the lithium scene by being the one almighty mf that runs the f... scene!
Guess what? He starts shouting that my server is fake and just have bots and that his server is GENUINE while HAVING BOTS HIMSELF FOR OVER A FUCKING YEAR.

So before you start whining at me, complain to R1ch instead. He's the ONLY one who can change something about it.
