Since it was the 20th anniversary of Quake II, our group (SanAnLAN) decided to go with a Q2 theme this year for the back of our shirts. Console may not be 100% perfect, but we like how it turned out and the map name was pretty genius if I do say so myself...
Note: QuakeCon 2017 was held at the Gaylord Resort this year for anyone wondering about the map name.
The only REAL q2 player there was David, the rest were a bunch of casual q3 players, not even Rix is a real q2 player despite his great experience in quakecons. If I lived close by, I would have made an effort to go there, it would be something unforgettable for me, even if I were destroyed by David. Indeed, it would have been an honor to play against him.

I definitely need to practice on this map though. Couldn't get it figured out in time. Getting lost/stuck down in the hallways and catacombs was not helping
This was a ton of fun and glad I was able to stick around. Went quicker than I had expected. Got off to a slow start and then had a darn dry spell towards the end...had Jehar chasing me down the whole game and he slipped past me there.
Anyhow, we definitely need more of these events. Personally looking forward to an AQ2 500
