Erica texted me last night and told me the news.  I'm speechless.  quadz was one of the most standup guys I had ever had the pleasure of knowing.  He gave a guy like me who deserved to be perma-banned(on many occasions), chance after chance after chance.  I don't think I've ever seen that guy lose his cool, he was always levelheaded and was fair in his decisions/punishments.  The world got a little darker with his passing.  They always take the good ones. 

My sincere condolences go to his family.  That guy leaves behind a void that will never be filled.  I'm not sure if he was secretly suffering or whatnot, but may this legend of a man rest in peace.

Judging by his selflessness at keeping these servers going, the hosting, all of it, he seemed like he was rather well off financially.  Whether he was or wasn't, if a GoFundMe or any of the sort is created by his family or if we were to create one, I would happily give to his family.  Not that it would replace him or anything, but I would love to help his family/friends be able to mourn and not have to worry about any of the financial side of his passing. 

Guy was true to his word.  He always said: "as long as there is breath in my body, I will keep tastyspleen up and going".  What a tragic fucking loss.

I'd love to do a 2.0, but a couple of the players decided to ruin it for the rest of everyone.  Claims of us rigging the teams was the most laughable thing to me.  We redid them and I ended up with fucking ex and golgo.  If anyone knows my history between those 2, I was a pretty big dickhead towards them and we weren't exactly friends(you can ask them though, I made up with them and we did exceptionally well as a team).  But yea, we rigged the teams.  I still haven't seen anyone else take the reigns, although they felt like they needed to voice their opinion constantly how the current admins were the worst picks and we need more 'level headed' admins.  I got over my dickhead self to try to put on something fun with a couple others, but a couple people wanted to hang on to past bullshit and again ruin it for other people by causing such a headache. 

I'd compete in a heartbeat if someone else decided they wanted to take the reigns.  I'd even help out with any admin'ing etc.  We got over 35? people to sign up and play competitive ra2 in 2014.  I'd love for someone to crush that number, especially since it didn't take much to get those 35+ people in the first place.  2dum?  ani?  killo?  You guys had a lot to say during the draft so I'd love to see you guys do better

If someone tried something that was recurring constantly to keep peoples attention and some being cash prizes when possible or giveaways, I think it would be a good success.  Might not be huge, but it might be enough to carry this game on for another 10 years(I know that's being pretty optimistic) but I could only hope someone gave this game CPR.  It would be nice to be able to hop onto ra2 when I have a few free minutes instead of having to play 12am-4am only. 

I mean, if someone has a better idea(won't take much), go ahead and post it and lets see if ex can pull it off.  He's worried about the game, so he should be in charge to see this through.  It's win/win imo.

I had a pretty good 2v2 tournament setup 4 years ago. I decided to throw in 250 myself and had 5 donations from others.

Wasn't this just a one and done ordeal?  I didn't pay much attention to tdm etc as I was fucking horrible at it.

If you advertise it correctly and it's for a decent amount say a couple hundred dollars for the grand prize(just an example, lets not get technical here), you could garner interest.  Q2 is so old that the "millenials" if you will, don't even prolly knows it exists tbh.  You throw a cash prize out there with all these idiots that don't want to work, you're telling me it wouldn't work?  Yes the majority of the people will play the one time and quit, but even if you get a few people that continue to play afterwards, isn't that a win?  Set a date for a month or two away, advertise it across every damn FPS website/forum/chat you can find and I guarantee people will line up to play/practice til the tourney happens.  Since every game that is made in this day and age is garbage, I have a feeling people will get hooked.  Hell, we just did a regular ra2 tourney and look at how many we got to sign up and that was 2 years ago with very little advertising.  Build it and they will come.  Add a "All this is possible thanks to quadz, especially for almost single handedly keeping q2 alive all these years.  Quadz provides/pays for the servers used in this tourney so please donate, any amount will help" at the top and I'm sure people will donate. 

You'd have to have the correct person to drive this though.  Someone who is lazy or is fucking retarded(ex/2d) shouldn't lead it.  And don't stop at one, do multiple tourneys.  I honestly don't think they all have to be cash to keep people playing.  There just needs to be a structured competition and people will continue to play.  Just use the first one to get as many people as possible to return or try q2 for the first time then do a couple or a few without a cash prize, rinse, repeat.

ex....you just making a post on the forums is doing nothing.  Try either doing a cash tourney, or what beaver said.  Try doing something instead of asking others to do it for you.  You haven't done anything for this game as long as I've known you, so if you want it to make a comeback etc, DO something about it.

While I don't have any problems with you, I do however, have a problem with how you go about things sometimes.  I mean, the guy was typing shit.  Whoopty doo.  (next time, you should either do your little fraps thing or take a screen shot.  Logs can be easily edited, but can also be easily looked upon by master jedi quadz.  But that just takes unecessary seconds/minutes out of quadz life each time you do this. 

HEY GUYS, I GOT A CONFESSION(no I'm not gay),  ((well, maybe.)),  (((well, ONLY for adam am I gay and he's all but abandoned me in this god forsaken place with the likes of that kangaroo down yander.))),  ((((ok, ok, I kid.  (((((not about the adam part)))), heha)))), but, I CHEAT LIKE HARDCORE BRAH.  I also have 20 working wallhacks, another 90 dodge bots, about 8-10 gun stoppers and about another million or so of other hacks I don't want to bring up in fear that quadz might check on me and find them and ban me and ya, I'll cry. 

So now that I'm done being so cool,  ya, try to make quadz job a little easier you douche cannon.  And I think it would serve you best to just PM quadz the next time, /shrug.

I'd have to disagree and say this game is def not better than quakelive.  The game is basically a modified version OF quakelive.  I don't get what the fascination is with all these new quake games in that weapon switch needs to be so fucking high, and that both quakelive and xonotic cater to newbies so hard(in such, that it's so fucking easy to hit shots, UNLIKE quake 2 where you have to aim).  You 'sorta' have to aim in these games but the insta-fire and the games not being as affected by netcode like quake2 is(a 10 ping either less or more seriously makes a difference in q2, but these games it takes like a 40 ping difference to notice it imo). 

Wish they'd just re-release q2 or make a game in which you can't switch to EVERY weapon you have in less than 2 seconds, nor that you can reload railgun so fucking quick(that just pushes people to spam so much more and not aim).  Put the railgun damage back to 100, slow the guns down, and you got yourself a fucking game.  Fuck niggerlive/xonotic

I agree a lot with what you say ex, since I live about 20ish mins North of Detroit, Michigan(n1gg3r capital of the USA).  But, I've learned over the years, that no matter what you say or do, aint nothing gunna change.  They will be able to call you 'crackah', 'whitey', etc and that's not considered racist, but as soon as you fire back with "sure thing you greasy fucking n1gg3r", they call racism.  And being close to Detroit, and having gone done there a lot back in my days of hustling any kind of pill, I despise n1gg3rs with a passion.  I have black friends, and I fucking love black people(they are funny as fuck), and there is a huge difference, just like Chrissy Rock has pointed out, just like the same goes for a white person and a w1gg3r.  I couldn't tell you how many times I've had guns flashed at me or had some kind of racist shit flung at me at gas stations for 'looking' at a black person because they were STARING me down like they were trying to intimidate me or something so I'd just stare back and smile, so mr badass has to pull up his shirt and show off his GLOCK like a badass grease monkey.  That's why when I went down to Detroit in my hustling days, I normally would take two-three of my black friends with me as when I went alone, they have tried to rob me before and treat me so much differently but when I have a couple of their kind with me, they tend to leave me alone.  But what I've learned over the years is that you can't change their minds at all, mr 2d.  You're wasting your time.  As most of these negras who act like negras, grew up with parents who taught them to hate the white man and to act like a negra all day long, everyday.  They show them how to steal/rob/hustle/talk like a faggot/and show no respect for any white person while the kids grow up, so that's what they 'know' essentially and go on to pass it on to their 800 kids with 900 different women.  I couldn't tell you how many times I've heard this n1gg3rs most famous line:  "it's cause I'm black, isn't it?!?", over the years whether it be in the ER(lady came in with back pain, and there were a couple people who had life threatening issues that came in after her so they were pushed on through and she had to wait an extra 5-10 mins and that was NOT ok in her book.  And she went OFF about it), I've seen people who work at grocery stores walk past someone who is screaming for help and being rude as fuck about it, so I don't blame the people working there for not wanting to help them, but then they come out with: "it's cause I'm black, isn't it?!?".  I dunno, it's never going to change so almost see no point in even continuing to discuss things or let them upset you.  Just look the other way and/or ignore them, as they will dig their own grave.  And if they start shit with you, give it right back and then walk away.  They can't STAND when you throw something at them then keep on going.  They'll even follow you while bitching at you for awhile, it's kinda cute .
