General Ownage / DaHanG Video Interview from QuakeCon
« on: August 16, 2007, 08:22:41 AM »
I did a bunch of video interviews directly after QuakeCon which we're just getting up now, of four of the top players in the Quad-Damage tournament as well as the top two ET:QW teams. Players and teams interviewed include Johan "toxjq" Quick, Magnus "fojji" Olsson, Alessandro "Stermy" Avallone, and Tim "DaHanG" Fogarty from the Quad-Damage tournament, with Team Dignitas and Team HOT from the ET:QW event.

Team EG's Tim "DaHanG" Fogarty was the best placing American at this year's QuakeCon and defeated longtime Swedish Quake 2 monster Mikael "PURRI" Tarvainen in the process. His third place finish here gives him two top three's in a row and three best top five's in a row, with no slowing down anytime soon. Fogarty talks to Gameriot about his difficult match vs Rafik "LoSt-CaUzE" Bryant, his unlucky Quake 4 draw vs Johan "toxjq" Quick and his defining Quake 2 win over Tarvainen. "I don't think PURRI played any different than how I expected him to, at least. Usually he can just get away with playing aggressive, and trample over people because he's smart with his aggression and has real good aim. He thought he could walk over me in the beginning and he payed for it. I think I played smart and deserved the win instead of him giving it to me."

Quake / interview with naymlis after quakecon
« on: August 11, 2007, 02:09:02 PM »
as well, I also interviewed naymlis after quakecon finished this year:

Gameriot: Do you think that tox got lucky on the random maps he got chosen to play in his matches, drawing Quake 4 vs you, DaHanG and fojji?

Tim "Naymlis" Bowes: I think I had a much better chance if the third game was QuakeWorld. I've been practicing for a few weeks, so I got pretty good at it. He's the better player though and he deserved to win. Even if he got lucky :).

A video interview with DaHanG will be posted on Monday.

Quake / Re: CTF server

The server had elect on for months but then it was mysteriously turned off. You cant have matches or scrims on it without an elect admin vote. We (the CTF community) only have ONE server and used to use tasty a lot to do pickup games. It's the only central server there is, so it would be GREATLY appreciated if elect could be turned back on.

OK, it's back on... with slightly tweaked settings.

You need to have 6 clients connected before the admin vote can be called (well 7 clients, but ignoring wallfly, that's 6.)

Regards,
