Quake / Looks like my Q2 Days will be ending...(Edit:spoke too soon)

I don't understand.

Why does monitor refresh affect fps in Quake2?My CRT is an ancient KTX that can go only to 85 refresh max yet in linux I get 400-700 fps using Quake2max and in windows with regular opengl only 59.999 max.

Quake3 is whatever I set com_maxfps to = 125 fps.

Can you not use a fancy client like q2max or q2e to fix your limited fps on your new LCD?

Quake2 evolved is very nice-I think maybe the very best.Egl and Q2max are good to.
