While I hope somehow this is not a real thing, I'm ruined by this news.

Quadz was a lot of things in one man, and I always looked up to him. He taught me multiple values that have enriched my adult life and he always managed to do it with an attempt at humor and a humility that I doubt I could ever replicate.

He taught me how to be a better person in so many ways. From him I received a wonderful example of how to question everything and to strive to be logical, reasonable, and critical in a world that values these things less every year. At the same time, in the same man, he showed me exactly what it was to give deeply of oneself, and to value the power of community and the interaction of many minds, most of them vastly different from one another. Somehow, as a guy supporting a niche old fps game about murdering each other about as fast as we can, he managed to teach me how to love people better, and be people better.

Exterminader is effectively saying here that he will only play you on the ts railz server where he will spawn with a gun and probably avoid you like the plague after you get 3 frags.

He will run and hide to get one of his own, then when he gets it, he will spam a smiley and probably leave with the very thin excuse that he has something else to go do.

Not really sure why you want to play on fox, but it's not gonna happen. He maintains it as his own private newbie reserve where he can stand around spamming traps at people who arent very skilled while thinking he's cool and never having anyone call him on it. This is what he did on xatrix, except people called him on it, and occasionally a good player would pop in to make him leave after he couldn't do anything to them for 5 minutes.

PS: inb4 claims of tdm player circle jerking: I don't like you, but at least I'll play you.

when you make the .map into a .bsp file for q2, you will run it thru a program called qbsp.exe that will cut the map you made up into the final triangles used to render it in-game. hint brushes are only used at this stage and don't appear in the final product.

they are used to define planes that the map creator would like used preferably during this cutting-up process, in order to minimize the program cutting stuff up poorly or making too many triangles where fewer would do the same thing using less resources. sometimes it is used to insure that a certain spot is cut a specific way to avoid one huge map area being seen from another huge or complicated area.

in this old q2 engine, the total number of rendered triangles in the final map are very limited and if they consistently go over a certain number they cause the game to chug noticeably and drop framerate. if you can only "see" the area you are in, and not the other one around the corner, the renderer will draw a lot less triangles every time it draws a frame and this will make it draw that frame faster.

Aight, since some people asked, I put the iR500 config up for people to fool around with and download the map I set up last time. I'll look into running the event again in about a month.

It'll be on a weekend, probably in the evening eastern time. If you have a day in Oct that you think will work best, chime in.

In the meantime you can try out the map and settings, and I've enabled voting for bots to test it against as the map is pretty big. "vote addbot X" in console, after you've joined the game and entered play, should add X number of bots.

I like that the best material you could come up with for me was a claim that you demoed a pub game (laughable by itself) where I joined a team solely to TK you and then did so obviously a couple times and left.

You should drop by irc for 30 seconds and leave me angry PM messages and then disconnect 100 more times to show how much you care.
